It adopted a desktop literature review method (desk study). This involved an in-depth review of studies related to folklore as an emergent of residual character. Three sorting stages were implemented on the subject under study that is, folklore as an emergent of residual character, in order to determine the viability of the subject for research. This was drawn from the trend in the subject of the study since 2010 to 2020. Using evolution literary theory, the paper analyzed how cultural practices, traditions and customs are expressed and practiced in the new form of storytelling. The survey likewise found that practice, reflection, analysis and examination design of different folklore concepts and observations was the trending technique to survey studies on folklore as an emergent of residual culture. Currently, folklore in the varying cultures in different nations ought to be preserved in advantage of the technology such as internet as a way of teaching moral and cultural values to the children and the upcoming generations.
