Got the first side of my tote bad done last night.

Not sure how this is going to look. I have no pattern to follow, I’m kinda making this up as I go along.

Here is a picture of the cowl neck sweater with detachable sleeves.

The thing I love about this sweater is how versatile it is. Come fall the temps can change quickly and dramatically (especially in Canada) and the fact you can take the sleeves off when it’s too warm, then put them back on when it gets cold, is really great. Also, it knits up really quick. If you’re a dedicated knitter, it'll probably take about a week or two. I have a black skirt with a high waist this will look really good with.

My cowl-nect sweater is finished! I will post a picture of it later. I"ve already started another project. A tote bag.

I could have had this project done a while ago, but I stopped after I finished one sleeve. Other things were begging for attention, and I couldn't resist anymore.

Working with the elastic is tricky. It's so thin that I drop it sometimes and will go several stiches without it. I have to work it around my yarn and pay close attention to it on the needle. A real eye strain. I should have the second sleeve done by the end of next week.

I already have another project I want to work on. It's nothing major, just somehting to use up a few balls of yarn I have left over.

Had to rip out my progress on the first sleeve. It looked horrible and I'm pretty sure I dropped a few stiches. Also, the 'seam' where I was to increase looked horrible. Good thing I didn't have much done. Second time around is always a charm.

I finished knitting up the body of the sweater last night while watching 'WANTED'. I was suprised I could see as I've been on a mad spree knitting lately.

This morning I started working on the sleeves. Last time I did this pattern the sleeves didn't really stay up, so I bought some knitting elastic. Wow, talk about hair thin and hard to see. It's like stretchy invisible thread, and almost as hard to work with. Plus, I lost my stich counter, so I have to mark on a peice of paper each time I finish a row.

At least I'm not using four needles like the pattern suggested. I tried, but gave up and went to a smaller attached needle. I dislike knitting on four needles.

I'd forgotten how confusing knitting with circular needles was. My cowl neck sweater requires you work with them, and it took me most of the morning to remember how to do it. It's probably the easiest and hardest way to knit. I know that sounds odd, but it is. Or at least, to me it is. Beause you're traveling in a circle, you don't have to remember to purl the second row if you're working in stocking stitch ( you just keep knitting) and in that way it's easy, but it also gets twisted easily too. I had an inch of work done and it was so twisted I had to pull it apart and start again. I tried to put it on a couple stich holders, but that didn't work and just got it more twisted up. Lol, I should have taken a picture of it. :P
