Some focus only on the classroom learning hence equipping the children with little knowledge on physical education. Others lack the facilities to facilitate the physical education of the disabled. This has led to an increased number of the disabled with little or no knowledge about their talent in the field of sports. This paper compares access to the physical education by the disabled in England, Germany, France and Turkey. The countries were determined by taking into consideration the population and geographical conditions. Data is collected from secondary resources and compared for the countries. The paper also sheds light on the factors that hamper the provision of physical education to the disabled in the three countries. It is concluded that the education systems in Germany and England do not favor the provision of physical education to the disabled. Special educational needs are recogni...

The KTK developed in 1974 and revised in 2007 by Kiphard and Schilling assesses the motor coordination of children aged 5 to 14 years. The sample consisted of 202 middle school students (86 girls, 116 boys; x̄ =12.27 years of age) in the Akçaabat district, Trabzon. The study used a quantitative research design. The data were collected using the Body Coordination Test for Children. The validity of the test was measured using construct validity and content validity. The reliability was calculated using test-retest reliability and item discrimination index based on the upper and lower 27% rule. The data were analysed using IBM SPSS 21 and AMOS 20 statistical software. Lawshe's Content Validity Index, inter-subtest correlation, concurrent validation, and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were used for the validity analysis. The reliability analysis was carried out using the discrimination index and test-retest reliability through the Pearson's correlation coefficient. CFA values were examined using χ2/sd, GFI, AGFI, CFI, RMSA, and IFI fit indices. The analysis results showed that the KTK has acceptable validity and reliability for our sample of Turkish middle school students.

When teachers who are important part of education system are healthy and fit, it will help to build future generations. Material: The research was conducted in the city of Trabzon, located in the northeastern region of Turkey. The sample of the study is composed of 328 last grade pre-service teachers (133 women, 195 men, age: 23.14 ± 2.62) studying at Karadeniz Technical University in the academic year of 2015-2016. Data was collected through Childhood and Adolescence Physical Activity Levels Questionnaire, Subjective Vitality Scale, and a personal information form asking for information about gender, doing sports as a certified sportsman/woman and department. Results: The research results yielded a significant difference between subjective vitality levels of those who do sports as a certified sportsman/woman and those who do not, and between pre-service teachers of physical education and those of other departments (p<0,01). There was also a positive and low-level significant relationship between subjective vitality and physical activity experiences of pre-service teachers (r= .23; p<0.01). However, subjective vitality did not differ significantly by gender. Conclusions: The research results seem to support other studies that reveal social and psychological contributions provided by participation in physical activity. Therefore, participation in physical activity seems to have positive effects on the subjective vitality of pre-service teachers.

It is clear that happiness is the aim for individuals living in a highly demanding society. Although much behaviour may result in perceived subjective happiness, it is thought that physical activity is one of such factors. In this respect, the aim of this study was to investigate participants’ subjective happiness as a result of their level of the amount of exercise they take part in, as well as other secondary measures (gender, body mass index, sports facilities and sports participation of family members).
Methods. The study sample consists of 312 undergraduate students (114 females, 198 males). Exercise Stages of Change Questionnaire (ESOCQ) and Subjective Happiness Scale (SHS) were used as a data collection tool in the study. Data was analyzed using the one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Kruskal-Wallis H test, T-test and Chi-Square (χ2) test.
Results. The results indicated that subjective happiness of undergraduate students was dependant on how physically active they were, particular in males, with normal body mass index and also those who were members of sporting facilities and whose parents were also physically active.
Conclusion. This study showed that university students who participated in physical activity showed subjectively higher levels of perceived happiness. Furthermore, the factors determining these relationships were supported by gender, body mass index, sports facilities and whether or not their close family members were also physically active.
Keywords:exercise, wellbeing, university students.

Existing research indicates that both teachers and prospective teachers who are physically active in comparison with inactive generally easier cope with physical and psychosocial problems. This topic, particularly psychosocial development of individuals and their participation in sports, has attracted the attention of researchers in recent years. There are a lot of studies on this issue, but less is known about the relationship between physical activity participation and psychological resilience. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine the association between experience of physical activity and psychological resilience of prospective teachers according to some variables. Methods. A sample of 331 last year student teachers (134 females and 197 males) who study at the Faculty of Education at Karadeniz Technical University in Northeast Turkey was evaluated. We used Childhood and Adolescence Physical Activity Levels Questionnaire to determine the physical activity experience. Besides, we applied the Brief Resilience scale to analyse the psychological resilience. The data was analysed by using the Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, Simple Linear Regression and Independent Sample t-Test. Results. The research findings show that there was positive and significant relationship between psychological resilience and physical activity experience of prospective teachers. Regression analysis revealed that participation of physical activity was found to be significant predictors of resilience. In addition, both physical activity levels and resilience of prospective teachers with respect to gender, department and licensed sports participation status were found significant. Conclusions. Physical activity has numerous beneficial psychological effects. Furthermore, current research results suggest that experiences of physical activity play a role in psychological resilience of prospective teachers. It was also concluded that prospective teachers should be encouraged to participate in physical activity. The development of this aspect of the policy can contribute to psychological resilience of prospective teachers.
