TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — U.S. Representative Markwayne Mullin announced he will be running for an upcoming open Senate seat.

Senator Jim Inhofe officially announced his retirement on Friday.

Mullin made the announcement in a video posted on his Twitter Saturday afternoon.

In the video, Mullin says about running for the open seat, "I'm in. I'm not one to back away from a fight, in fact, I believe 100% if you're gonna get in a fight, you win it. So we're in it to win it."

Mullin is the second person to announce his candidacy for the soon to be open Senate seat, the first being Inhofe's chief of staff, Luke Holland, who Inhofe endorsed.
