Restore the lost luster to your pre-2000-04-15 Extra Class license by obtaining a commercial telegraph operator's license! Because yes, indeed, those still can be earned. A bit of study is all it takes.

SS American Victory

This fully restored and operational museum ship link has Tampa FL as its home port. An amateur radio club is closely associated with the vessel. And now they too hold VEC examinations for the commercial T license. There, in fact, is where I earned mine. A very fine crew! And just like at Port Reyes, once you pass, they'll even offer to stamp your new ticket by letting you operate station KKUI on very ship itself! Great fun!. Contact WB9UJS, NI4M and/or W8IM via QRZ.com to arrange a schedule for testing.

MRHS

The Maritime Radio Historical Society link holds VEC exams at their Point Reyes, CA facility where you can test for the commercial maritime radio-telegrapher license. Upon passing your test, they'll even allow for you to immediately exercise the exalted privileges of your brand new license by sitting the circuit at KSM, their historic commercial coast station. How'd that be for uplifting the old CW spirit?

Study Aids

When studying for an examination, I find it best to never so much as lay eyes upon a wrong answer. That way, even should I completely lose my composure in a fit of nerves, thus forgetting all the answers, then even so it will still be the case that only the correct ones will seem familiar. Any wrong ones, for being encountered the very first time, will all seem foreign.

So here then, are Q&A lists with only the correct answers showing. And, where needful, mention also of the errata. Study them in printed format as PDFs, or listen to them as MP3s. I do the latter while in the car on my way daily to and from work. My reading voice may not be the best. And for that reason it's probably best that on-the-air I'm CW-only. Anyone who cares to rework a hundred or so MP3 files, then give them away, gladly will I exchange mine for theirs. But until then...

Hurray for Me!

I did it, and so can you!
