So Ive been without a computer for a lil more than a week
Thanks to best buy for "fixing" it - it is now completly dead and my bank account is $70 lighter - dont even get my started about all that
I only have online access at work and school - so its not that bad, just a little inconvienent
anywho - im looking for a new comp - desktop or laptop... whatever... i obviously still have the monitor and other goodies.... just looking for the best bang for my buck
if anyone sees a super duper deal - please let me know!

So my dad just called me, and he just received a check in the mail from my grandma for $1,000!
My grandma said she just had it sitting in here account, so she thought we might have more fun with it... hahaha! (I wish i could say that!)
Needless to say, my dad and I will have alot of fun in Jamaica - thanks grams! ;D

Im going to try and update more frequently... It gives me something to do and yeah... i guess thats about it....
Tomorrow I leave for AZ to visit the grandparents - I love going out there - its so nice and relaxing - and I miss my g'rents.... they will soon be moving to Arkansas/Missouri to live near their other kid... which is sad.... but at least Ill get to see that part of the country soon enough - apperantly Ill be flying out that way during christmas time .... doesnt it snow out there?!? i dunno what to do with myself!.... I decided that for next winter Im going to invest in those "fashion rainboots" which I honestly thought was the stupidest thing - but then realized instead of using them for fashion, I could use them for their real purpose - to not get my feet, socks, and pants soaked when Im at school.... last year I ended up wearing flipflops because I hated walking around in wet socks all day!
Getting back to my AZ story.... my mom and sister flew out there yesterday since they can afford to take more time off than I - which will be interesting since I really dont get along with both, but havent spent more than 24 hours with either of them for a year now...... my sister notified me that Friday we're going to go floating down a river (which is tying tubes or rafts together and drifting - if ya dont know) which will be kinda cool except for a few reasons:
- I will get burnt to a crisp and suffer the rest of my vacation
- I will be compelled to wear my bikini which is not cute for my size girl
- Am afraid that my mother and friends will bring alcohol tempting me to drink with my family - which is a very new thing for me and could be quite awkward
in any case, im sure ill let ya'll know when I get back
On a few other Travel points..... I found a great deal today for Jamaica - 6 nights air and hotel for $400 with taxes - amazing! my dad checked out the hotel and its not a resort or anything, but very nice with good reviews.... we have to travel before the end of October.... my sister said its so low because its hurricane season - me and my dad are like, who cares! its JAMAICA! and at that cost, its cheaper than a R/T plane ticket anywhere these days! So its looks like I may be going to Jamaica soon - how exciting!
I am also currently planning my grad present to my self -> Summer 2007 in Europe! its the "Ultimate Eurpoean" Trip proviede by Contiki Tours ( www.contiki.com) and is 48 days and 16 countries! There is a 5 day layover at their resort on the island of Mykonos, Greece..... its all going to be incredible! Check it out! if you want to go, let me know, the more ppl that sign up together, the cheaper it can become! If you have any questions, feel free to ask - ive been researching this for 6 months! I actualy tried to get an internship with them, but I got runner up :(
I guess thats enough for today - i should be working - its already 3:20 and im off at 5! wooo-who!

Alas! My car has been found!
So here's the story:
around 3pm today I get a call from my dad saying that my car might have been found. Some one had called him and said that he was driving and saw some guy pushing a ghia to the side of the road. The man was a ghia enthusist and offered to help. He was talking to the guy about it, hoping hed want to sell it, but the guy seem shady. This triggered a memory of a stolen car ad was that placed on thesamba.com, he thought it was weird because it was in Long Beach and that was where he was from. After helping the guy, he went back home and went back online to check. He saw the ad but didnt think it was the right car, because the picture looked white. He read the description further and saw that my car was a seafoam green car and that it mentioned the special shifter that I had. He thought this had to be it. So he drove back to where he had helped the guy, and the car was there with a car cover on it. He lifted the cover to check the licence plate number, wrote it down and went back to his comp at home to check. When he got home, sure enough, it was a matched, and thats when he called my father.
My father then called the police to notify them of the whereabouts of my car. It took a little while for them to get out there, because they were trying to figure out which district the car was in... whatever. Shortly after, I get a call from the LBPD saying they had found my car! I had to go pick it up, or they were going to tow, which would have cost me money (nice huh?). So I left work early, my co-worker took me out to my car near 405 and cherry. I get there and my car looks beautiful! The car had been washed, waxed, and cleaned. I thought that was weird, but I wasnt about to complain. All of my belongings were gone, along with the door panels, cd player, and speakers. The emergancy break was broken and the iginition had been switched. The officers asked me to start the car (the person had left the new key in the iginition) but it didnt even make a sound. We called a tow truck to have them take it to my local mechanic.
While we were waiting, we fould all kids of goodies the person had left in the car, knives, needles, tools, jackets, cell phones, bills, IDs, pictures, binoculars (scary!) and the list goes on.... One of the ids belonged to a 17yr old girl in pasadena, the other to a 40 yr old male that lives in my neck of the woods. The cops figured that most of this stuff had been stolen, and was probably being used for identity theft. Judging by the condition the car was left, we probably figured that the person who had stole the car resold it to some poor chap. If that was the case, i nearly felty bad for takingmy car back, that sucks for that person, but hey - it is my car! So our only hope right now, is that the person who had the car came back to the car, realized it was gone, and files a stolen car report... then we might be able to ask them who they bought it from and the like.
As of right now, the Ghia is in the shop, waiting to be looked over and now we just have to process the insurance. It sounds like its going to come out better than it was!

This past sunday morning, i woke up to find my car stolen from my side walk... checked with the police and it hasnt been towed or impounded
If anyone in the area sees it - please report it! I miss my beloved car!

So my boss gave me his old beach cruiser bike
Its a male bike, but whatever, im not picky when its free
come to find out - its a schwinn! which is awesome
I need to do some work on it, make it look pretty, you know
the rear tire needs a new intertube, so that will be a task and the rest will be add ons

First day of school yesterday. I have some good profs and intresting classes. Though my International Business class is going to kill me - i was falling asleep on the first day.
I was really excited to go to my marketing class. My friend Anna is in it, and she too is majoring in marketing. Our teacher, Mr Tomlin, is awesome. Hes the advisor for AMA (American Marketing Association) which is something that i decided I wanted to be apart of this year, and i have the advisor for a teacher - awesome! Then he started talking, about internships, about portfolios, etc etc, and I started freaking out - I dont have any of this! Me and Anna stayed after class to talk to him. We are going to schedule a meeting with him to talk further. I mentioned how I wanted to do an internship, but theyre usually unpaid, and well, I have to work to live and taking time off creates a hardship. Hes going to look into getting me a paid internship - which is sweet. It was just reassuring talking to him, because I felt so lost and behind in the game, and I know he his willing to work with me, and he knows that Im going to try.
On another issue, I might rush for a sorority (I dont even know how to spell it). The president of delta delta delta is a friend of mine and tried all last semester trying to convince me to rush this fall. And who do I see yesterday before my first class? ya.... not to mention Anna really wants to rush. I dunno, I really wouldnt mind. I know ive talked about this before, i just cant see me being a sorority girl... but it would be fun? I havent shot down the idea, i figure I wouldcheck out a few meeting and events, see if it would work with my scheduale and if I can even finance it. Who knows...?
By the way - my mom being as rediculous as she is and waiting until the last possible second to turn in her papers, has delayed my financial aid until mid september - SHIT, how am i going to buy books...? :/ its putting me down to the wire, and i hate that.
I should get back to work..... <3
