Long Beach Island (original) (raw)

Hi, I'm new to the community. I spend most summers in Long Beach Island. My mother used to rent there with her family when she was growing up. Then, when she and my father got married, they bought a house in Spray Beach.

Since then, I randomly go down whenever I have a free chance and absolutely love it. Sopposedly, I took some of my first steps on the beach!

Here is a page I made about pictures from this past summer, all from LBI

Enjoy :)

When Karen & I rented in LBI on the bayside one summer. We took a party boat called the "Black Whale Trump Castle Party Boat II. For a set amount of money they gave you free drinks on the ride over to Atlantic City, had a live party band, boat prizes, free chips (not potatoe chips) and a coupon for a free lunch in the Trump Plaza. I won $100 that day. Which was great cause I was on my vacation!!!!!

heyy I am new to this community. I am 16 years old and I live in Boston, Mass. I have went to lbi every summer of my life and stayed at my grandparents house on Ocean Avenue. However, this summer, my grandparents sold their house :( but i might be able to go down there and stay with a friend, hopefully.
LBI is my favorite place to go in the world, the beaches are awsome and you always make so many new friends. The thing i love most about it is just hanging out on the beach at night with all your friends. I have so many memories there, it makes me sad to think that I might not go back there this summer
anyways, here are some pictures

YOU KNOW YOUR AN OLDER L.B.IER IF>>>>

1. If you remember Carol's Resturant. Also remember that their menus had the story
of the NJ Devil on them.
2. Remember the St. Lucy and the hurricane that destroyed her. When the ocean met
the bay in the middle of the main drag.
3. Remember Lucy's Homemade Fudge Shop and her homemade Lollipops.
4. Ran for the Good Humor truck in the hot sand, when you heard the bells.
When it parked right by the beach entrance to your block.
5. Remember The Gally hamburgers and that their tables were like little row boats
with benches in them.
6. Remember the days the Blues (fish) came in...
7. Remember crabbing in back of Acme without the license.
8. Remember when crabbing you could actually see the bottom on the bay and the
crabs in low tide comming up to get the fish head you tied to a string.
Then you would snag them with a net.
9. Remember the planes used to pull huge kites shaped in the form of
commercial cigerette packs
or beer for advertisements.
10 Remember the prehistoric fish that they thought was dead & gone. That washed up on
the jetties (Our Beach)
11. Remember the two giant Jellifish that washed up. As big as a kitchen table for
four. No lie. That they chopped up and burried with shovels to get rid of . (

for one week...so I've heard from a reliable sorce.
22. The worse trouble you ever got in was stealing wood from the sand dunes fences
to construct and build your sandcastles.

MY INTRODUCTION:

My name is Regina. I am originally from NJ. I currently reside in NC. If you got a chance to read my bio. on the user info page youll note that I spent all my summers (whole summers) down Beach Haven in LBI. It is like my second home. I'm no Benne! hehehe (If you live on the island, you'll know what I'm talking about: JK) I could write a book on this place! I opened this community for anyone interested in sharing memories, posting events, asking questions about Long Beach Island. Anything about LBI is great! So lets have fun. Because thats what your supposed to do when your on vacation in Long Beach Island!
