In this paper, a new approach for power management that eliminate such wake-up periods unless the node indeed needs to wake up, is introduced for wireless sensor network nodes. In the proposed wake up scheme, to achieve energy conservation, sensing nodes employing the proposed scheme sleeps periodically to reduce duty cycle and minimize idle listening. The potential power saving in terms of the lifespan of a sensor network application is evaluated, using experimental setup. Unlike common wireless sensor network nodes employing always-on and rotation-based power management schemes, the proposed scheme saves 98% of the energy used in the always-on scheme, and saves over 70% of the energy used in the rotation-based scheme. Results of the WSN node employing the new power management scheme are presented including comparisons with those of a WSN node employing conventional always-on and rotation-based power management schemes.

The learning and the way a learner acquires knowledge will also be evolving and changing in post pandemic world. The design of learning content, classroom, laboratories etc. is very important for achieving desirable learning outcomes. That is the reasons all the accreditation bodies are focusing upon outcome based education. The paper presents the new definition and designs of the learning space (i.e. classrooms, laboratories etc.), learning material and also presents how big data has impacted the implementation and incorporation of technology for improvement in learner's learning experience. The paper focuses specially on use of big data techniques for estimating the learning pattern of students. The proposed work was evaluated and results shows that the proposed model can be adopted in any educational organization for investigating the learning experience of students/learner's through implementing it in educational embedded system module.

If we analyses duration of this pandemic spread we will find that even the most developed countries having advanced medical facilities were facing a shortage of medical equipment's, medical supplies, innovations and technology to fight and diminish the effect of Novel CORONA Virus. This paper explores the idea through a case study when each country was capable and had enough potential to produce/manufacture sufficient medical equipment's, where was the gap, what was the reason for the shortage/deficit in production, although each country had enough manufacturing capabilities. In this paper questionnaire-based survey was carried out in the Moradabad city to find answers for the above questions. Moradabad city is popular for manufacturing metal handicraft products with large number of small to medium scale industries and 3 universities and two engineering colleges, therefore ideal to carry out proposed survey. The survey was conducted for local entrepreneurs/businessman and the students of local engineering colleges. The results of the survey were carefully recorded and analysed to identify the gap that exists between local businessman and young talented students / scientists / researchers to find out the reasons for shortfall in manufacturing technology based solutions to fight pandemics.

Defected ground structure is produced by integrating a circular slot in the ground plane having different centre with the annular ring radiator patch. Microstrip line feed is used to excite the annular ring patch antenna placed on an FR4 substrate (dielectric constant εr = 4). Results of the proposed antenna are carried out using Ansoft HFSS simulation software, and compared with the measured results, which shows good agreement. It is observed that the proposed antenna shows four bands at f1 = 2.92 GHz, f2 = 5.64 GHz, f3 = 8.21 GHz, and f4 = 10.53 GHz with an impedance bandwidth of 70%, 50%, 20 % and 10 % respectively. The proposed antenna is suitable for S, C and X band wireless communication system.

In order to further increase the applicability in real world applications, minimizing power consumption is one of the most critical issues. Therefore, accurate power model is required for the evaluation of wireless sensor networks. In this paper, the power consumption for wireless sensor networks node is analyzed. To estimate the lifetime of sensor node, the power characteristics of proposed sensor node are measured. Based on the proposed model, the estimated lifetime of a battery powered sensor node can use about 6.925 months for 10 times humidity detection per hour.

Sensors play an important role in WSN. The measurement of soil pH is arguably the most widely performed test in the chemical laboratory, the use of pH sensitive field-effect transistors (pHFETS) is proposed for remote monitoring of the nutrient solution composition for an agricultural farm soil. The proposed system was formed by a sensor system based on polymeric (PVC) membranes with cross selectivity with time triggered sampling of sensor and its signal conditioning. With the optimized model, th0e pH levels of soil were monitored and the time triggered approach for sampling sensor improved the performance and lifetime of WSN node .The approach appears as a feasible method for the on-line assessment of nutrients and undesired compounds in fertigation solutions.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is now widely used in precision agriculture applications. Sensors ... more Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is now widely used in precision agriculture applications. Sensors play an important role in WSN. The traditional humidity sensors employed in the agriculture have a drawback that they acquire a large amount of data which is to be transmitted or processed. Whereas the intelligent sensor proposed in this paper uses a conventional sensor and an embedded processor that can process the data acquired using algorithms to reduce the amount of data collected, to extract only relevant information and to present this information in a format which minimizes post-processing latency. As a result of which the final processing end has to perform a little computation that too only on features (like significant changes in humidity) rather on the huge data hence reducing the power consumption. The intelligent humidity sensor reduces the amount of data processed by 50% (depending upon humidity variations) and thereby also reducing the power consumption.

These nodes have limited amount of initial energy that are consumed at different rates, depending on the power level. The lifetime of the network is defined as the time until the first node fails (or runs out of battery). In this paper different type of energy efficient routing algorithms are discussed and approach of these algorithms is to maximize the minimum lifetime of wireless sensor network. Special attention has been devoted for algorithms formulate the routing problem as a linear programming problem, which uses the optimal flow path for data transmission and gives the optimum results. Advantages, limitations and algorithms are also discussed in this paper.

Recognition of audio-visual speech was based on combined hidden Markov models (CHMM). The described methods were developed for a single isolated command; nevertheless their effectiveness indicated that they would also work similarly in continuous audio visual speech recognition. The problem of a visual speech analysis is very difficult and computationally demanding, mostly because of an extreme amount of data that needs to be processed. Therefore, the method of audio-video speech recognition is used only while the audio speech signal is exposed to a considerable level of distortion. There are proposed the authors own methods of the lip edges detection and a visual characteristic extraction in this paper. Moreover, the method of fusing speech characteristics for an audio-video signal was proposed and tested. A sign...

Though there are many approaches available that can be used to reduce the power/energy dissipation in conventional CMOS circuit which may include, reducing the supply voltage, or decreasing the node capacitances and minimizing the switching activities with efficient charge recovery logic. But all these reducing method have certain physical limitations, yet their limiting values are near but still they are in debatable. In this scenario many researchers are trying to adopt different optimization and energy conservation principle for VLSI circuit which led to the development of a new classical approach of switching logic knows as adiabatic switching logic. The basic principle in adiabatic logic circuits is to slow down the logic transition varying from logic 1 to logic 0 and vice versa, aiming in reducing the power dissipation. Though locusts do not harm humans directly, they devour leaves on trees, agricultural harvests fruits, vegetables, crops and other green vegetation. The swarms of locusts are attacking more than 25 districts covering more than 50,000 hectares of desert areas of western India. The present paper proposes a unique solution to prevent the locust attack in agricultural field. Locusts can eat twice their size, therefore, a swarm of locusts can cause wide spread damage to the crop. According to Wikipedia, very small swarm eat the amount, 1 Km2, of food in one day that is sufficient for more than 34,000 people. The adult swarms or hopper bands travel long distances and devastate the several million hectares of crop. In the present paper, a wireless sensor network (WSN)-based unique solution to fight the plague of locusts is proposed.
