This platform will enable the simulation of large-scale complex systems and the study of emergent complex behaviors in a virtually unbounded wireless network of computing modules. The final infrastructure will be used as a simulation tool for three applications: neurobiological modeling, culture dissemination modeling, and cooperative collective robotics. The Perplexus platform will provide a novel modeling framework thanks to the pervasive nature of the hardware platform, its bio-inspired capabilities, its strong interaction with the environment, and its dynamic topology.

Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the impact of variable boundary temperature. The considerations are illustrated based on the experimental results obtained for a discrete silicon carbide power device.

The first part of this paper concentrates on the SCADA history and shows how SCADA systems have changed since they have appeared. This part also includes structure specification of modern SCADA systems as well as merits and description of scripting languages which are embedded in SCADA software. The second part of this research presents scripting languages abilities based on example of Visual Basic for Applications which are integrated with iFIX Intellution HMI/SCADA Automation Software. All examples come from the author's master thesis which is entitled “The use of SCADA System in Visualization of Medicine Production Process”. The extent of this master thesis was done a visualization system. This system presents a real production process which is implemented in one of the pharmaceutical companies in Lodz.

The model takes into account the temperature dependence of device characteristics and combines in a single model the behaviour typical for bipolar and unipolar devices. The presented electro-thermal simulations of the diode produce accurate results, consistent with the measurements. The dynamic model verification has been also presented on the example of a boost power converter.

The resulting modulation of the resonance frequency of the cavity is leading to a perturbation of the amplitude and phase of the accelerating field, which can be controlled only at the expense of RF power [1-3]. The X-Ray Free Electron Laser (X-FEL) accelerator, which is now under development in Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY), will consists of around 800 cavities with a fast tuner fixture including the actuator / sensor configuration. Therefore, it is necessary to design a distributed control system which could be able to supervise around 25 RF stations, each one comprised of 32 cavities. The Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA) was chosen to design, develop, and build a Low Level Radio Frequency (LLRF) controller for X-FEL. The already performed tests of ATCA LLRF control system proofed the possibilities of usage of such a standard for high energy physics experiments [4]. The paper presents the concept of integration of the piezo compensation system to the ATCA standards with special emphasis to the hardware part of the system. Moreover, the first results from carried out tests of the prototype power supply unit for piezo drivers integrated to ATCA board will be presented.

TESLA type resonators are extremely sensitive to detuning induced by mechanical deformations – Lorentz force detuning (LFD), mainly due to the extremely high quality factor (Q) of the 1.3 GHz resonance mode, in the range of 1e6. The resulting modulation of a resonance frequency of the cavity makes power consumption and stability performances of the Low-Latency Radio Frequency (LLRF) control more critical. In order to minimize the RF control efforts and desired stabilities, the fast piezoelectric actuators with digital control systems are commonly used. The paper presents a novel approach for automatic control of piezoelectric actuators used for compensation of Lorentz force detuning, the practical application and carried out tests in accelerating module ACC6 in Free-Electron Laser in Hamburg (FLASH).
