ДНК-СВЯЗЫВАЮЩИЕ СВОЙСТВА 2ʹ-ГИДРОКСИФЛАВАНОНА И ЕГО ПРОИЗВОДНОГО НА ОСНОВЕ МОДИФИКАЦИИ ШИФФА Анно... more ДНК-СВЯЗЫВАЮЩИЕ СВОЙСТВА 2ʹ-ГИДРОКСИФЛАВАНОНА И ЕГО ПРОИЗВОДНОГО НА ОСНОВЕ МОДИФИКАЦИИ ШИФФА Аннотация. Флаваноиды-крупнейший класс растительных полифенолов. 2ʹ-Гидроксифлаванон относится к производным флавона и первоначально был выделен из растения мимоза пугливая (Mimosa pudica). Данное химическое соединение обладает широким спектром биологической активности, в том числе и способностью к связыванию с ДНК. Нами изучены физико-химические свойства 2ʹ-гидроксифлаванона и его производного на основе модификации Шиффа, а также механизмы их взаимодействия с ДНК. Качественный анализ проведен с помощью ядерного магнитного резонанса. Для анализа стабильности химической структуры производного 2ʹ-гидроксифлаванона на основе модификации Шиффа использовали ультрафиолетовую спектроскопию. 2ʹ-Гидроксифлаванон и его производное фотостабильны в диметилсульфоксиде. Взаимодействие 2ʹ-гидроксифлаванона и его производного происходит по механизму интеркаляции. Изменение структуры молекулы 2ʹ-гидроксифлаванона путем модификации Шиффа приводит к усилению ДНК-связывающих свойств. Высокая аффинность связывания с ДНК 2ʹ-гидроксифлаванона и его производного в форме модификации Шиффа может найти применение при разработке противоопухолевых и антимикробных лекарств. An evaluation of total polyphenols and anthocyanins contents in dietary supplements is important ... more An evaluation of total polyphenols and anthocyanins contents in dietary supplements is important analysis in medical aspect of human and animal diets. The content of the mentioned compounds should be higher in 100 g of solid extracts than in 100 g of fruits. Thus, the presented work concerns the evaluation of total polyphenols and anthocyanins contents in black chockeberry--Photinia melanocarpa (Michx.) extract--dietary supplement (DS) available on market. The spectrophotometric analysis of DS were performed. The usage of certain conditions of measurements such as dilution factor, storage conditions and filtration, has the significance in the determination of the analyzed compounds in the extract.

The three Schiff base ligands, derivatives of hesperetin, HHSB (N-[2,3-dihydro-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(3... more The three Schiff base ligands, derivatives of hesperetin, HHSB (N-[2,3-dihydro-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)chromen-4-ylidene]isonicotinohydrazide), HIN (N-[2,3-dihydro-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)chromen-4-ylidene]benzhydrazide) and HTSC (N-[2,3-dihydro-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)chromen-4-ylidene]thiosemicarbazide) and their copper complexes, CuHHSB, CuHIN, and CuHTSC were designed, synthesized and analyzed in terms of their spectral characterization and the genotoxic activity. Their structures were established using several methods: elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-Vis, EPR, and ESI-MS. Spectral data showed that in the acetate complexes the tested Schiff bases act as neutral tridentate ligand coordinating to the copper ion through two oxygen (or oxygen and sulphur) donor atoms and a nitrogen donor atom. W literaturze światowej, jak i polskiej znajduje się niewiele informacji dotyczących tego typu badań, dlatego też wyniki uzyskane w tej pracy stanowią pewne uzupełnienie stanu wiedzy w tym zakresie.Preliminary examination of solubility and general behaviour of bupivacaine hydrochloride, local anaesthetic, in different solvents, pH environment and variable concentrations was performed using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Została opisana również krótka historia odkrycia ziaren kakao i ich właściwości. Wykonano również oznaczanie chromu w spożywczych produktach kakaowych za pomocą spektroskopii UV-VIS metodą z difenylokarbazydem (DFK). Przeprowadzono pomiar 14 różnych próbek kakao, które wcześniej poddano mineralizacji.This paper is mainly focused on the chromium content in the cocoa drinks. Physical and chemical properties of chromium and its toxicity has been reported. Furthermore the history of the discovery of cocoa beans and the applications of cocoa beans has been briefly described. The measurements of 14 mineralized samples of cocoa were performed. Chromium plays an important role in human and animal bodies. According to the oxidation state chr... more Chromium plays an important role in human and animal bodies. According to the oxidation state chromium can be advantageous for human health and, simultaneously possesses toxic properties. In this work the studies concerning the chromium content in the total and Cr (VI) forms in selected and frequently used during breakfast food products were presented. The largest quantities of the metal occur in raw cereal products (non-roasted buckwheat or brown rice bread) and herbs such as garlic or mint. The lowest chromium contents were observed in raw and UHT milk samples.

They sometimes prevent or control roles. Many compounds, well known or less are treated as the therapeutic agents. Among them, there is a specific group of molecules named commonly as Schiff bases, chemically imines. Schiff bases are aldehyde-or ketone-like compounds in which the carbonyl group is replaced by an imine-HN=СН-or azomethine-NHN=СН-group, they are an important class of compounds for new drug development. Schiff base modifications so far proved to be very effective with increased efficacy and reduced toxicity. Therefore, many researchers have synthesized these compounds as target structures and evaluated their biological activity. The aim of this work was to present some interesting and promising examples of Schiff bases which exhibit biological activity.

Recent studies have shown that it contains concentrations of heavy metals such as nickel. Heavy metals are known to be toxic and there have been many studies on their toxicity such as lead and cadmium, however researchers are now starting to explore the nature of the toxicity of nickel. A common and well-known method of spectrophotometric determination of nickel by dimethylglyoxime reagent was used. Microorganisms are able to give rise to biofilm formation on food matrixes and along food industr... more Microorganisms are able to give rise to biofilm formation on food matrixes and along food industry infrastructures or medical equipment. This growth may be reduced by the application of molecules preventing bacterial adhesion on these surfaces. A new Schiff base ligand, derivative of hesperetin, HABH (2-amino-N′-(2,3-dihydro-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)chromen-4-ylidene)benzohydrazide), and its copper complex, CuHABH [CuLH2(OAc)], were designed, synthesized and analyzed in terms of their structure and physicochemical properties, and tested as antibacterial agents. Their structures both in a solid state and in solution were established using several methods: FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, UV-Vis, FAB MS, EPR, ESI-MS and potentiometry. Coordination binding of the copper(II) complex dominating at the physiological pH region in the solution was found to be the same as that detected in the solid state. Four flavanone Schiff bases (E)-1-(2-phenylchroman-4-ylidene)thiosemicarbazide (FTSC) (1), N′,2-b... more Four flavanone Schiff bases (E)-1-(2-phenylchroman-4-ylidene)thiosemicarbazide (FTSC) (1), N′,2-bis((E)-2-phenylchroman-4-ylidene)hydrazine-1-carbothiohydrazide (FTCH) (2), (E)-N’-(2-phenylchroman-4-ylidene)benzohydrazide (FHSB) (3) and (E)-N′-(2-phenylchroman-4-ylidene)isonicotinohydrazide (FIN) (4) were synthesized and evaluated for their electronic and physicochemical properties using experimental and theoretical methods. One of them, (2), consists of two flavanone moieties and one substituent, the rest of the compounds (1, 3, 4) comprises of a flavanone-substituent system in relation to 1:1. To uncover the structural and electronic properties of flavanone Schiff bases, computational simulations and absorption spectroscopy were applied. Additionally, binding efficiencies of the studied compounds to serum albumins were evaluated using fluorescence spectroscopy. This growth may be reduced by the application of molecules preventing bacterial adhesion on these surfaces. A new Schiff base ligand, derivative of hesperetin, HABH (2-amino-N′-(2,3-dihydro-5,7-dihydroxy-2-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)chromen-4-ylidene)benzohydrazide), and its copper complex, CuHABH [CuLH2(OAc)], were designed, synthesized and analyzed in terms of their structure and physicochemical properties, and tested as antibacterial agents. Their structures both in a solid state and in solution were established using several methods: FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, UV-Vis, FAB MS, EPR, ESI-MS and potentiometry. Coordination binding of the copper(II) complex dominating at the physiological pH region in the solution was found to be the same as that detected in the solid state. Four flavanone Schiff bases (E)-1-(2-phenylchroman-4-ylidene)thiosemicarbazide (FTSC) (1), N′,2-b... more Four flavanone Schiff bases (E)-1-(2-phenylchroman-4-ylidene)thiosemicarbazide (FTSC) (1), N′,2-bis((E)-2-phenylchroman-4-ylidene)hydrazine-1-carbothiohydrazide (FTCH) (2), (E)-N’-(2-phenylchroman-4-ylidene)benzohydrazide (FHSB) (3) and (E)-N′-(2-phenylchroman-4-ylidene)isonicotinohydrazide (FIN) (4) were synthesized and evaluated for their electronic and physicochemical properties using experimental and theoretical methods. One of them, (2), consists of two flavanone moieties and one substituent, the rest of the compounds (1, 3, 4) comprises of a flavanone-substituent system in relation to 1:1. To uncover the structural and electronic properties of flavanone Schiff bases, computational simulations and absorption spectroscopy were applied. Additionally, binding efficiencies of the studied compounds to serum albumins were evaluated using fluorescence spectroscopy. Recent studies have shown that it contains concentrations of heavy metals such as nickel. Heavy metals are known to be toxic and there have been many studies on their toxicity such as lead and cadmium, however researchers are now starting to explore the nature of the toxicity of nickel. A common and well-known method of spectrophotometric determination of nickel by dimethylglyoxime reagent was used. The presented paper, due to the increasing concerns surrounding the harmful effects of nickel compounds, aims at testing and demonstration of the effectiveness of the mentioned method.
