What a repulsive movie. Remember boys, if the girl repeatedly says "no," just keep harassing her and manipulating her and manhandling her and eventually she'll fall for you!
There's a point in this movie where the male lead is threatened with jail time and I've never cheered harder for a protagonist to get put away. There are wonderful examples of healthy relationships to be found in 1930s movies, but shit like this getting circulated and normalized shows you just how generations of Harvey Weinsteins were allowed to exist for so long in Hollywood.
There's a monster of a creep-out scene where Charlie the fireman gets his date Pat into a handsy version of a straight jacket hold and forces kisses on her and... I'm sure the actress must have been directed to relent because this is portrayed as this great moment where she gives in and decides to make the best of it, because at least he blah blah blah.
There was some audio that kept looping during some fire scenes and I wonder if it was covering a film loss or somehow it was tied to the visuals. I couldn't quite make it out. I listened as hard as I always do to that hovering imperial snow droid in Empire Strikes Back and I still don't know what that one's saying either.
Not very fun or entertaining for an action movie. The main isnt very fitting for a protagonist either more like a villain.
