This is a fun and short science fiction slasher flick. It has a cool concept with the marriage of an 80s John Hughes classic and a slasher, or Psycho, if you are to believe the box. I think my biggest issue is that the ending just happens, and it doesn't feel like an ending. I am not sure if that makes sense, but it did feel rushed. Normally, I am asking for my low-budget horror flicks to cut the runtime. Psycho Science is the anomaly that I wanted more of, just for it to feel more complete. Still, this is a fun watch.

The tagine says it all: it's Weird Science meets Psycho. Two hopelessly single women talk their inventor guy friend into creating the perfect man for them. But when they discover they accidentally input the profile of a serial killer into their experiment, things get messy.

This might be my favorite movie to date from micro-budget director Chris Leto, even though it falls into this silly trend of turning a beloved '80s comedy into a slasher film. Maybe my favorite featuring Jessa Flux, too, although I've been falling behind on her movies. The ending is a tad anticlimactic, wraps up too easily, but overall Psycho Science is a quick and punchy indie horror gem. 🔪

Two ladies get tired of the dating scene turning out lame men so they have their science buddy create the perfect man. The only problem is that a serial killer is linked to him.

PSYCHO SCIENCE is an obvious take-off on WEIRD SCIENCE and it just doesn't really add up to much. I'm thankful the film was just 67-minutes and just around the hour mark if you don't count the start and end credits. I will at least give the director credit for not trying to expand this any further because there's not much here.

There are a couple ladies who get naked and murdered. A couple scenes of showing the girls on bad dates. This all could have added up to something better but there's just nothing here that was all that well explored. A few minor kill scenes and that's about it. I did really enjoy Aja Toombs and hope to see her in more movies.

2 friends are tired of dating apps so they Weird Science the perfect man, problem is he's part serial killer.

Yup, That's what this is...it's cheesy and a little charming. Harmless low budget fun.

The tagline says it all. But too bad that it is badly constructed even by the short running time.

Weird Science meets Psycho is a pretty good description of this movie.

It’s obviously very cheaply made but, personally, that’s the kind of charm I like out of these movies.

Normally I’m all for the shorter run time on these movies but this could have used another bit. It just kind of ends so abruptly.

Can't explain this better than the cover blurb does 😆It's weird. Shifts from comedy to slasher and back again. It has the always lovely @UndressJess and i had fun with the low-budget shenanigans.

I mean they nailed it with the tag line "It's Weird Science Meets Psycho". That is exactly what you get for the most part but just don't poorly. Looks like they had a good time though.

There's so much fundamentally wrong with how Psycho Science is constructed, yet that pales in comparison with mastermind Christopher Leto denying the world Jessa Flux as a serial killer who gets cloned via genderflipped Weird Science shenanigans. Seriously, I know the majority of the Indiegogo money must have went to her to show up for a couple of days as a random victim in the most needlessly long flashback ever conceived (literally a third of this movie is a flashback to events that don't impact the plot at all), but why do you tease us with potential camp greatness?!

Psycho Science is predictably awful and not remotely worth your time. Even if you're a Jessa Flux fan (as we all should be), she's only in this for about 5-minutes and doesn't even get to provide her signature overacting charm.

This 69 minute crowdfunded indie sci-fi/horror feature from writer/director Christopher Leto(SAMMY SLICK:VAMPIRE SLAYER,THE CHEERLEADER SLEEPOVER SLAUGHTER) has a young scientist(Klein Wong[SWAMP WOMAN,DEATHBLOW{2023}]) who uses high tech computer equipment to create the dream man(DAnre Noire[EASTER BLOODY EASTER,THE INN{2024}) for two racially mixed friends(Ariella Aegan,Aja Toombes),only that Noire goes completely psycho as he sets out on a blood drenched murderous rampage.

While I regularly dig crowdfunded indie horror cinema,I found PSYCHO SCIENCE to be completely uninvolving and not so well structured as this film may have good intentions but it just doesn't connect well with the cast doing all they can with their performances amid Leto's decent helming,as Jessa Flux(CANNIBAL HOOKERS[2020],XXX-MAS,CRACKCOON) has a small supporting role as Wong's visiting friend(in true Linnea Quigley fashion) as her strong performance here suggests that maybe Flux should have been the main female star.

NOTE: I was a crowdfunding contributor to this film.
