Between the apostolic and the patristic periods, the orthodox position’s reaction to these heresies seem to generally point to a polemic surrounding incarnation of Jesus Christ, or rather the Gospel in full, which appears to have influenced the development of the New Testament. The rise of heresy in the church is observable in the New Testament, eventually resulting in Arianism by the time of St. Athanasius of Alexandria’s twenty-seven canonical list as a rule of faith for Christianity.

The phrase "All Israel" has been discussed for just under two millennia along with a plethora of interpretations, and the likelihood of it ever quelling is far from over. Israel's houses were promised soteriological reunification, and the mysterious inclusion of Gentiles perplexed Paul until he came to the realization of God's dually-cryptic plan was to not only unify both houses of Israel under the Messiah, but likewise incorporate Gentiles into His Kingdom as well.
