D. Zizwe Poe, Ph.D. is a professor at Lincoln University. Professor Poe teaches courses in Pan-Africana studies and history. Poe is well known for his work on Kwame Nkrumah. He is also a frequent evaluator of dissertations for a variety of universities that graduate scholars majoring in Pan-African related fields and disciplines. Poe's other focus is Hip Hop culture.Poe states that one of the most exciting times in his life was serving as a 'tutor' for the conscious Hiphop group known as Boogie Down Productions and subsequently serving as an executive producer for the Human Education Against Lies project with KRS-ONE (Lawrence Parker).

Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana, which was the first former British African colony to... more Kwame Nkrumah, the first president of Ghana, which was the first former British African colony to win independence, was a staunch advocate for Pan-Africanism. Nkrumah’s vision was that of a united Africa under scientific socialism. Nkrumah defined the force that would lead this effort as the All-African People’s Revolutionary Party (AAPRP).
