TheRomanSenate - Linus Tech Tips (original) (raw)

  1. TheRomanSenate
Somewhere between quarks I have become a victim to the second law.
Revive me after the 3rd law takes over.
  2. We technically don't know if carbon offsets are actualized outside of paperwork. I can boast all I want about my tech product being offset but if it is only validated on paper and transaction it's effectively worthless as a marketing tool.
  3. It's not a gotcha thing, I'm not even sure what it would be a gotcha moment about. It's establishing a fundamental understanding as to the foundation of the issue at hand. You can see that LMG knows and understands how Honey works in their own post. (This is only in regard to affiliate poaching.) All the info you need to know as to how it hurts the creator community and their supporters is in this forum post.
  4. TheRomanSenate
Brushing up on forum posts about sponsors since it's a requirement for safe channel viewership these days.

Social media is like family, there's always that crazy uncle/aunt who you wouldn't trust even in a padded cell.
  6. Not really it's just alien to how moderation serves a community. Seems like a way to skimp on paid labor, but whatever. I'm not interested in moderators opinion because by default it seems in this community specifically to be a heavily biased position based on the reward structure. I will not be discussing this again as it's completely off topic and task from my main concern. LMG mods are free to do whatever they want, I'm not their boss, or signatory, or commissioner or admin.
  7. Anyone have good toy recommendations for cats?
  8. I thought so with mine, but worth it is a highly variable question depending on a number of unique factors based on your specific needs. I use CAD software and hate noise and heat.
  9. I'd personally would like to see WinRAR.
  10. TheRomanSenate
Awaiting the results of an internal investigation. Exciting times we live in.
  11. Code switching was not only hurting them. They understood that it was a byproduct of using the extension.
  12. There's some really shady stuff happening outside the scope of Honey at this point and it might be more problematic than the Honey scam for the LMG community. We have mods stirring the pot and deflecting despite repeatedly informing that their views don't align with LMG. We have a number of uninvested commentators only they do seem way too invested for a subject they claim doesn't impact them, and we have a large amount of white knighting LMG proper despite them not being attacked by anyone. I think I went looking for a mole hill thread only to find a mountain of drama from supposedly a nonissue party. Y'all really need to get that GN controversy out of here because all its doing is making everyone here hypersensitive to mild criticism. Just my personal opinion since some mods seem more than happy to abuse their principal responsibility.
  13. Why are you saying there's no anger at PayPal or Mr.Beast, there absolutely is, this is a LMG forum and an LMG specific thread. If you want to vent about Mr.Beast being a scammer do so, that's not what we as viewers want from LMG however.
  14. LMG did know because they asked Honey to stop and change the method of action for the application. Why are you acting willfully ignorant. It harms users because it sneakily poaches users affiliate cookie that they picked up on their preferred content creators page. What are you talking about citation is needed. That's how the dang thing works. I know you know this is how it works, you have access to the same info I do when it comes to what LMG claims was the reason for abandoning the partnership. LMG knew it was shady. Don't gaslight people as a moderator.
  15. I think you finally answered my question though, I don't use Twitter because it's community is terrible and I question the media literacy of users who still engage with it. Frankly claims made by individuals don't reflect community requests. It looks to me the greater community wanted just a heads up, and certainly doesn't blame Linus or LMG for Honey. Linus is still the owner, no you can't hide behind a CEO. When questions from viewers get tough. I'm not sure what GN has to do with any of this as it's seemingly completely unrelated aside from being used as an excuse for framing the conversation away from personal assurance LInus gave us in the past. It's a what you say matters moment for Linus and I wish that he had been more mindful during Wan. A great example is nobody blames Austin Evans despite his apology and notice video.
