  1. This video seems to suggest the keychron mice are pretty good on mac. And atleast the brief time i used one i thought it was a pretty decent mouse
  2. If you have big hands you might find the dex abit narrow. I would look at somthing like the razer death adder v3, Xlite v4 Large or zowie ec2/ec1, all are pretty big and have the other features you mentioned
  3. I have both and comparing them side by side yeah there is a difference but nothing crazy, i would probably just keep the r4
  4. Isnt it the opposite, higher frequencies are easier to absorb due to shorter wave length and so dampening is usefull in this case. Either way, my personal experiance is the noise im distrubed by the most is the iregular coilwhine, clicking from hdd and fan bearings, air flow noise doesnt bother me as much. So i chose to go with a define 7 which i have been very pleased with and made a big difference compared to other cases ive used (meshify c, p500, hafx etc). Ofc chosing the right fans and setting fans curves is a big part of it too
  5. Hot air will be mixing with cold air no matter what, with the top exhaust right next to the intake you are going to get some recirculation and imo thats worse. I agree the gpu would prefer another front fan, therefor i think a better setup would be the default north xl setup with 3 intake fans at the front and then 3 exhaust at the top, no need for a rear exhaust.
  6. I like the wooting wrist rests, silicone, perfect size and hight for the huntsman v2, bit on the expensive side tho
  7. Its fine that its being exhausted, its going through the aio rad so cooling the cpu, imo having a top front exhaust fan is only an issue with tower coolers.
  8. Keychron M6 is good on mac OS, also not too expensive
  9. Mechanical keyboards have more high end good options, they tend to feel better to type on, last longer, and have more custom options. For mice, weight is personal preference really, but the industry is tending towards lighter mice and i personally prefer lighter mice. You're thinking of the pwnage stormbreaker, a magnesium mouse. To be honest i wouldn't go for a high end exotic mouse, there are a few out there but they don't have the greatest reputation for quality and don't always feel great (but a fine mice in terms of performance). I would probably just go with a "normal" gaming mouse and then ball out on the keyboard where there are many more options interesting aesthetics. There are a eye watering amount of options for custom mechanical keyboards, take a look at https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/ for some inspiration. https://prototypist.net/ is a uk based outlet for custom keyboards. Keep in mind unless you want to pay someone to assemble a keyboard for you, you will have to order all the parts and assemble it your self, its not that hard especially if you get a hotswap board.
  10. You have a big budget, so you have lots of options. I would definitely get a good pair of Hifi headphones and then a mic separately, but there are so many options at different price points that i couldn’t start giving recommendations. For keyboards generally i would go for something mechanical and hotswap, keychron and 8bitdo, are a few decent bets. For mice i will give a few specific recommendations: Razer deathadder v3 pro, Logitech gpx 2, zowie ec2w, Endgame gear xm2w. All have top specs (sensor, click latency etc) and good build quality (especially zowie and endgame gear)
  11. I did hear that on the dual mode oled's they dont use integer scaling and so dont look great, but specifcally the Alienware AW2725QF does use integer scaling and i assume that it would be the same if i used integer scaling on GPU for a regular 4K monitor
  12. I dont really want a oled for work since its a ton of static content. I do realise 1080p 27inch aint going to be great but if im only using it for gaming and then 4K for work...
  13. Really? I was under the impression as long as the screen uses integer scaling (like the alienware one does) it should be the same as a 1080p 27inch monitor.
  14. Hi all, Im looking at upgrading my monitor. Currently i have one 1080p 240hz (Alienware AW2521HF). My use case is for work (excel, matlab, solidworks etc) and multiplayer gaming (CS2, dota 2 etc, and a bit of ETS2, Caves of qud, Hell divers 2). Im currently deliberating between either: A) 1440p 240hz 27”(LG 27GR83Q) B) 4k/1080p 360hz dual mode 27” (Alienware AW2725QF) Initially i was just going to go with the 1440p monitor, but im not sure my pc will run games at a high enough fps for it to make sense (currently getting 75ish fps in Hell divers 2). Im a bit of a fps snob and preferable want 120+ fps. The benefit of the 4K/1080p monitor is that for games I cant run at high fps at 4K I can just switch to 1080p. I have also read that 4K is a big improvement over 1440p for text sharpness which of course would be nice for work. Does anyone have any experience with 1440p vs 4K for work (at 27”) or any thought or suggestions? Thanks PC specs: 5800x3d 6800xt 32gb 3600Mhz
  15. I agree with the razer deathadder v3 pro recommendation, great mouse. I will add logitech g pro x superlight as another option.
