The Life of a Canadian Composer Wolf (original) (raw)
To Music, the Greatest Master of all You called
You called my name, I answered with a cry.
A cry for help.
You came from the spheres,
enfolded me in Your sweet warmth,
and flooded my mind
with secret knowledge.
You taught me rhythm and time
so I could keep my place.
You taught me to read Your script,
so I could interpret Your words.
You taught me to write Your sounds,
so I could speak to you and others.
You taught me the sweet gift of melody
so I could be lyrical.
You taught me the colors of the orchestra
so I could paint a vivid picture.
You taught me to listen to the work of others
so I could learn from other masters.
You taught me to express myself,
and speak the words of my soul.
You taught me to paint
with the richest tones available.
You taught me to synthesize
to create complex structures that shine with life.
You taught me to be myself
and say what's in my soul.
Your teachings have given me the richness of life
and the most divine way to express my emotions.
For this, I give You thanks.
