Aug. 30th, 2005 07:07 pm Rest and relaxation...He and Poppy needed desperately to get away. Things had gotten so busy, so hectic. So many plans to be made or sorted out. The return of Michael - at least, a Michael. Did it really matter if he wasn't quite the one from Kitt's past? Heather, and the implications associated with her presence. Poppy's revelations - Kitt was still coming to terms with his feelings about her so-called 'family'. Breaking down in Dorothy's arms. Iris, and their respective feelings about her. Life had gotten ridiculously chaotic in a short time. They needed a break. Away from everyone, everything, a chance to reconnect and focus on only the two of them.The cabin, even with its assorted memories, was the perfect place.New memories to more than make up for the old.Pack up the cats, pick up the dogs, stock up on necessities. Mar. 19th, 2005 11:53 amIt wasn't like old times again. Not in the least. But after all that conversation and talk and tentative holding, they might finally be starting to reach an equilibrium. A better place. Something. Something that was better than the tension and screaming and tears and pain that had been before, better than most of the things they'd had before. She missed the physical intimacy, the reassurance of it. Had to remind herself not to get caught in that old trap, physical intimacy did not mean intimacy of other kinds. Work on both, not one at the exclusion of the other.She'd sent Kitt out to find Michael, a little worried since Michael hadn't come back from his walk yet. A little worried about their relationship in general, to be honest. Everyone was so tense, so messed up. Well, Kitt would find Michael and she would make dinner for all three of them. Stir-fry, which could be vegetarian or she could add meat to it at any point, depending. Rice underneath, won-ton soup on the side. Something else, she felt like making something else, felt like having a big spread though she couldn't have said why. Those little noodley crackery things. Duck sauce and soy sauce and mustard. Tempura. She could do tempura real quick. Veggie tempura, and shrimp tempura. And she nearly cut herself deveining the damn shrimp.There. And that was most of their carnivore food stores for a while, but they could go out shopping later. Was there enough to drink...? Yes. Okay. She started twisting the napkins into flower shapes while she waited for the stir-fry to finish simmering, the boys to get back. Tiny smile, and she set out the table for three, making a production of it. Three candles in the center of the table. And then it was just pace up and down in the kitchen, don't burn the food. Once they stop in front of the cabin, she gets out of Beast's cab, leaving Shawn to decide when she wants out, or for whenever Beast kicks her out. She pulls Kitt off the trailer and opens his hood. She reaches down into his engine, searching for his CPU casing, finding what she's looking for, she reactivates him, closes the hood and steps back, hands on her hips, waiting for him to realize she's there.14 comments - Leave a comment |

May. 23rd, 2004 11:16 pm Getting Away From It All...Following this conversation, KITT has decided that Zephyr will be relatively safe - and find some peace and quiet - at the Knight Retreat.
