I went to the Comic Con this year in San Diego. Huge. So many people. Twas my first time going. While there, one of the things I bought was the Little Nemo book featuring all the comics (amazon). I found it on accident and did the, walk around with it in my arm for awhile before I said screw it, I'm gonna get it. Thirty-two bucks, not bad at all. Little Nemo in Slumberland scans Okay, here are some scans of the full-page comic strips. I had to scan these at a REALLY high resolution, to the tune of 1000+x1000+ pixels, because there's a lot of fine text that's harder to read at smaller resolutions, and besides, you get so much more detail when it's so big.And detail is really the name of the game here. The North Pole picture is one of the most amazing pieces of comic work art I have ever seen. Ever. I mean it.The North PoleFather TimeNemo finally meets the Princess; Flip summons the sunIn the comic, the first year or so (I'm guesstimating) were mostly one-shots about Nemo's dreams, which were pretty surreal and involved one of the denizens of Slumberland trying to bring him to see the Princess through some way or another, but he always ended up becoming terrified/close to dying, and then he'd wake up. Partway through, Nemo gets to the gates of Slumberland, and then he makes his way close to the Princess. After four or five months' worth of strips (he keeps getting delayed because Flip keeps popping up with schemes to get him to wake up), he finally meets the Princess, and he, she and Flip go on adventures together.Some differences from the movie: Bon Bon is a boy, there's no Icarus, Flip isn't an old man but is referred to as "a brat," although he still smokes, and he's the nephew of one of the Dawn Guards who summons the sun. He refers to this often and uses it to threaten people, like when they travel to the Ice Palace.Interestingly enough, whenever anyone falls asleep in Slumberland, they refer to it as "falling awake."
