The God and Goddess (#1) (original) (raw)
I think for me, until a few years ago the God and Goddess where always a bit nebulous. Not unlike how I saw God and Jesus when I was growing up. Sort of an omnipresent, ubiquitous being(s) that I never really had any hope of knowing. One that I should bow to...that was one of the things that really struck me when reading Chp.1 & 2 of this book was the part where she described the dreams or visions the people she has known have had of the Goddess.
"In every one of these visions, the Goddess said, "Rise".
That was very powerful for me, not only because it speaks of a benevolence but because I have always felt that the Gods didn't want us to be sniveling little lumps of flesh; rather they want us to recognize the divine within us.
