Heavy quark drag force and the momentum diffusion tensor have been decomposed by employing a general tensor basis for an anisotropic medium. Depending upon the relative orientation of the direction of the momentum anisotropy of the medium and heavy quark motion, two drag and four diffusion coefficients have been estimated in the anisotropic QCD medium. The relative significance of different components of drag and momentum diffusion coefficients has been explored. The dependence of the angle between the anisotropic vector and heavy quark motion to the drag and diffusion coefficients has also been studied. Furthermore, the energy loss of heavy quarks due to the elastic collisional process in an anisotropic medium has been studied. It is seen that the anisotropic contributions to heavy quark transport coefficients and its collisional energy loss have a strong dependence on the direction and strength of momentum anisotropy in the QCD medium.

The impact of momentum anisotropy on the heavy quark transport coefficients due to collisional an... more The impact of momentum anisotropy on the heavy quark transport coefficients due to collisional and radiative processes in the QCD medium has been studied within the ambit of kinetic theory. Anisotropic aspects (momentum) are incorporated into the heavy quark dynamics through the non-equilibrium momentum distribution function of quarks, antiquarks, and gluons. These non-equilibrium distribution functions that encode the physics of momentum anisotropy and turbulent chromo-fields have been obtained by solving the ensemble-averaged diffusive Vlasov-Boltzmann equation. The momentum dependence of heavy quark transport coefficients in the medium is seen to be sensitive to the strength of the anisotropy for both collisional and radiative processes. In addition, the collisional and radiative energy loss of the heavy quark in the anisotropic hot QCD medium have been analyzed. The effects of anisotropy on the drag and diffusion coefficients are observed to have a visible impact on the nuclear suppression factor both at the RHIC and LHC.

Section 1 reviews experimental results of some recent light-flavored particle production data from ALICE collaboration. Other sections are mostly theoretical in nature. Very strong but transient magnetic field created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions could have important observational consequences. This has generated a lot of theoretical activity in the last decade. Sections 2, 7, 9, 10 and 11 deal with the effects of the magnetic field on the properties of the QCD matter. More specifically, Sec. 2 discusses mass of [Formula: see text] in the linear sigma model coupled to quarks at zero temperature. In Sec. 7, one-loop calculation of the anisotropic pressure are discussed in the presence of strong magnetic field. In Sec. 9, chiral transition and chiral susceptibility in th...

The effects of longitudinal bulk viscous pressure on the heavy quark dynamics have been estimated... more The effects of longitudinal bulk viscous pressure on the heavy quark dynamics have been estimated in a strongly magnetized quark-gluon plasma within the Fokker-Planck approach. The bulk viscous modification to the momentum distribution of bulk degrees of freedom has been obtained in the presence of a magnetic field while incorporating the realistic equation of state of the hot magnetized QCD medium. As the magnetic field breaks the isotropy of the medium, the analysis is done along the directions longitudinal and transverse to the field. The longitudinal bulk viscous contribution is seen to have sizable effects in the heavy quark momentum diffusion in the magnetized medium. The dependence of higher Landau levels and the equation of state on the viscous correction to the heavy quark transport has been explored in the analysis.

The analysis is done within the framework of Fokker-Planck dynamics by considering the heavy quark scattering with thermal quarks and gluons at the leading order in the coupling constant. An extended quasiparticle model is adopted to encode the thermal QCD medium interactions in the presence of a magnetic field. Further, the higher Landau level effects on the temperature behaviour of the parallel and perpendicular components of the drag force and diffusion coefficients have studied. It has been observed that both the equation of state and the magnetic field play key roles in the temperature dependence of the heavy quark dynamics.

Momentum space anisotropy present in the quark and gluon distribution functions in relativistic h... more Momentum space anisotropy present in the quark and gluon distribution functions in relativistic heavy ion collisions induces Chromo-Weibel instability in the hot QCD medium created therein. The impact of the Chromo-Weibel instability on the dynamics of a heavy-quark (HQ) traversing in the QGP medium is investigated within the framework of kinetic theory by studying the momentum and temperature behavior of HQ drag and diffusion coefficients. The physics of anisotropy is captured in an effective Vlasov term in the transport equation. The effects of the instability are handled by making a relation with the phenomenologically known jet quenching parameter in RHIC and LHC. Interestingly, the presence of instability significantly affect the temperature and momentum dependences of the HQ drag and diffusion coefficients. These results may have appreciable impact on the experimental observables such as, the nuclear suppression factor, RAA(pT), and the elliptic flow, v2(pT), of heavy mesons in heavy ion collisions at RHIC and LHC energies which is a matter of future investigation.

The heavy-quark (HQ) transport coefficients have been estimated for a viscous quark-gluon plasma ... more The heavy-quark (HQ) transport coefficients have been estimated for a viscous quark-gluon plasma medium, utilizing a recently proposed quasi-particle description based on a realistic QGP equation of state (EoS). Interactions entering through the equation of state significantly suppress the temperature dependence of the drag coefficient of QGP as compared to that of an ideal relativistic system of quarks and gluons. Inclusion of shear and bulk viscosities through the corrections to the thermal phase space factors of the bath particles alters the magnitude of the drag coefficient, and the enhancement is significant at lower temperatures. In the competition between the effects of the EoS and dissipative corrections through phase space factors; the former eventually dictate how the drag coefficient would behave as a function of temperature, and how much quantitatively digress from the ideal case. The observations suggest significant impact of both the realistic equation of state, and the viscosities, on the HQs transport at RHIC and the LHC collision energies.

Data was collected using semi-structured interview schedule. Findings revealed, that they blamed their condition to the past sins and propitiation of gods, or because of living/travelling in harsh weather conditions, etc. Though initially reluctant, they sought treatment after consistent persuasion of local Non-Government Organisation (NGO) volunteers. Respondents opted for the public hospital over private ones, while some preferred the indigenous medical system ‘Amchi’. Perceived stigma related to TB, fear of ostracisation, lack of faith in treatment, etc. affected their treatment seeking behaviour. It was conjectured that Buddhism spreads compassion and helps in coping. Provision of better health facilities and spreading knowledge and awareness will help in combating the existing challenges.
