"Absolutely love this! ๐ Maria Bystedt hit the nail on the head about the need for a shift in investment strategiesโcommunity-driven change is the future! ๐๐ก Systemic change only happens when solutions are co-created with those who have lived experience of the challenges. Itโs all about playing the long game with patient, holistic funding. Big thanks to Catalyst 2030 and the panel at UNGA Week for spotlighting this vital conversation! ๐ #ImpactEcosystems #SystemsChange #CollectiveImpact"

โThere is a need for a paradigmatic shift in investment strategies, where community driven change is key. Systems change requires that the primary actors co-create the solutions together with proximate leaders who have lived experience of the challenges at hand.โ H&M Foundationโs Program Director Maria Bystedt participated in a panel organised by our partner Catalyst 2030 during the United Nations General Assembly Week in New York. The panel explored the role of impact ecosystems for systemic change, and Maria shared her experience of working in cross sectoral partnerships through our Collective Impact strategy. She argued that donors need to be involved in the mindset shift, and apply patient long-term funding for systems collaborations that look at the big picture holistically rather than focusing on isolated aspects.

On #WorldCitiesDay, we celebrate the partnership between Climate-KIC Foundation - the not-for-profit arm of EIT Climate-KIC - and Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association. The two organisations are dedicated to driving systemic change for the climate crisis, rooted in justice, fairness, and inclusivity. To launch this partnership, weโre introducing 'Philanthropy Talks: A Journey towards Climate-Neutral European Cities through Imagination, New Skills, and New Economies' โ a webinar series inviting foundations, cities, and philanthropic leaders to reflect on how these areas can support a just transition to climate neutrality in cities.Kirsten Dunlop, CEO of Climate-KIC, says: โThe climate crisis requires new levels of collaboration, innovation, and financial mobilisation to create the scale of change we need. This partnership and webinar series bring together the power of philanthropy and innovation to drive impactful climate solutions for cities across Europe. The transition to climate-neutral cities requires technical and financial support but above all systemic approaches to innovation, community-driven solutions and creativityโthis is where partnership with philanthropy can be transformative.โhttps://lnkd.in/eXVp9R7F

๐โจ Just attended the Earthshot Impact Stories event at the stunning London Sky Garden, and I am truly inspired! Hosted by Hannah Waddingham, I had the opportunity to listen to Prince William, Earthshot Prize chief executive Hannah Jones, and one of the prizeโs trustees, Tokunboh Ishmael, as well as have a chat with several Earthshot prize nominees afterwards. Here are some key takeaways: - Data-Driven Decisions: Innovators emphasising the importance of data to support making impactful decisions. - Communicating Impact: Effective communication is crucial in showcasing the difference we make. - Innovation-Investor Partnerships: The importance of collaboration to scale impactful innovations. Something Innovate UK supports through the Investor Partnerships Future Economy programme - Refreshingly positive: Positively approaching the climate crisis with hope. - Hotbed of Innovation: There's is a wealth of creativity out there and simple ideas can lead to significant impact. Very proud to be leading the Innovate UK Impact Management Framework which includes metrics based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals which were also used as a basis for the Earthshot Prize categories.#Earthshot #Innovation #Impact #Sustainability #GreenJobs #DataDriven #InnovateUK #EarthshotPrize

In a recent piece for Stanford Social Innovation Review, two leaders I admire immensely, Colette Pichon Battle and Enei Begaye, reflect on the outcome of Kataly Foundationโs Environmental Justice Resourcing Collective - a group of women of color movement leaders who created a grantmaking strategy to move $75M to frontline communities. Funders and donors - check out the insights they share: https://lnkd.in/gPAgS-ZzI recommend reading this piece for more about how the Collective: moved nimbly to get rapid response dollars to high impact groups in critical moments, and developed a strategy that resourced grassroots power building, land-based strategies towards self-determination, multi-generational approaches, and movement infrastructure. I am proud to be a part of the EJRC, and to build with and learn so much from this Collective.

Iโve been imagining life in 2100, called by tomorrowโs Intergenerational Futures Town Hall to โditch the pessimism, and embrace the courageโ. I invite you to do so with me. Weโre living in a thriving, sustainable world. Itโs not perfect and thereโs still, as ever, work to do, but thinking this way allows me to consider the types of discussions we had, the compassion we shared, the bravery these times needed and wisdom we gave time for, rising to the surface in 2024. It makes me think about the actions I need to take and the person our future generations needed me to be. This hope combined with tangible action will be at the centre of tomorrowโs "An Australian Vision for 2100โ, an Intergenerational Futures Town Hall hosted by Taylor Dee Hawkins, Foundations for Tomorrow.org & United Nations Foundation. Plenty of the eventโs themes and objectives give me reason to be grateful to be attending on behalf of Next25, but I'll pick two: Let young people lead the way: This will be a powerful, impactful platform to young people, and for young people, who are ready to be part of our nation's journey toward global governance, sustainability, and equity. Act now for the future: The event highlights a concept that resonates deeply with my work right nowโhow future-making is happening, that it is happening today, and that we can intervene in this system. Really looking forward to contributing to an Australian vision for 2100 and the global 2100 Roadmap.#IntergenerationalFutures #Sustainability #GlobalCooperation #YouthLeadership #Vision2100
