This happens in client meetings, in negotiations, or even casual conversations. We get so focused on what we want to say next that we miss key points the other person is making. Here’s a situation I dealt with: I was in a meeting with a potential client, excited to showcase my services. Halfway through, I realized I had been so focused on pushing my points across that I wasn’t actually listening to their concerns. As a result, I missed out on addressing the real problem they needed solved.
