Table Pr0n!!!. (original) (raw)

Hey! Stupid question time! Please read all of the post before responding and answer with descriptive reasoning (none of those 'one word' response posts!) of your answer, even if you're just agreeing with someone else, so we can understand YOUR state of mind on the matter better! Also, please be sure to give a brief description of the history of the weapon that's in your mind for us who have foggy memories on that particular one. And remember it's all for fun ('till someone pokes their eye out...)!

What sword in all mythologies do you think was the most powerful?

Heh, there's been numerous swords that have been "the ultimate weapon" but each of them have had their flaws (even if it's really just the wielder's fault) that makes them still beatable. Excalibur grants invincibility, but when not in the owner's hand does not. Masamune, which is said to be able to cleave mountains in two, was still able to be broken into shards when dropped from that same mountain top (I'm going from Chrono Trigger myth for this one!). Even Soul Edge (heh sorry, I had to!), the sword that gained sentience and evil desires for destruction, met it's end from some adventurer's simple man-made blade (or blunt object, depending on who was played).

So, for a better description of what the question should be : "Which blade is the best?". It matters to YOU whether or not : durability is the big issue, magical power makes the blade, or overall 'kick-ass' is what matters in a weapon.
