Hi!
How long have you been a Lokean?

Only for a little under a month! I've just looked it up in the diary I use for my religious things and realized that. Which is crazy because Loki and I had been side-eyeing each other for quite some time until he finally made the first step. What about you?

I've been a Lokean since He Claimed me in January 2011.
When I was in my 20s, I was a soft polytheist and honoured the Goddess, in Her aspects as Bast and Sekhmet, but I never had any spiritual experiences with Them. In my 30s I was an agnostic pagan. In my 40s I began to wonder if I had a Patron/Matron deity, after discussing this with a friend who had a Patron.
I felt like I was stuck in my life and needed change, so I prayed to Loki, and He answered. I was very surprised that He did. :-)

How did Loki make the first step, then?

So at the beginning of this year I began worshipping Angrboda and her brood; not working with, simply honouring them, giving offerings, and prayer. I had avoided Loki like the plague for about a year, I don't know why. But I was sifting through some old belongings of mine and happened across my old Rubix cube. I got the overwhelming feeling of "I want the cube." Obviously I was like no take your rude ass home you're not getting this who do you think you are if you are who I think you are... and lo and behold, after a few days of throwing slights back and forth, I kind of caved and decided to find out what he wanted. I set him a place on my altar, and a month later I'm his (currently temporary) devotee. He has a way with convincing people.

So, you can hear Loki?
What kind of offerings do you give Him?

I used to be able to hear Loki, two years ago, but then I got very ill and lost that ability. I'm hoping this connection will come back as I recover from my illness.

I give Loki offerings on Saturdays, which I feel is His day. I light a candle and incense and welcome Him into my home. I give Him a shot of whisky or a beer. Sometimes I'll also give Him sweets.

It's less of a case of hearing him and more of a case of sensing him and his intentions- I can do that with an awful lot of otherworldly things. His energy, when he does hang around, feels like that of someone about to burst into laughter. It's hard to not feel giddy. And through his intentions I can usually understand what he wants. Because I'm a devotee now I try at least to light a candle and some incense and say a prayer every day, and when I do give him offerings it's often the same- alcohol, sweets, sometimes I divide the meal I'm eating and welcome he and Angrboda to share my meal. I've also just last night begun to hold the bowl for Sigyn. Which is pretty grueling as I've been asked to literally keep it up as long as I can.

I've tried doing the bowl holding ritual; it gave me some intense visions. It was a bit too overwhelming, so I stopped.

Hey Heathenwhelp. We all have to start somewhere. I think that always learning and being on your own path is part of the fun. It can be slightly scary, at first, but would we have it any other way?

Hell no. This has only been a short journey so far, but it's certainly been my own. Thanks for the welcome!

I have to admit, most of my friends had it figured before I did.
