Lolita Styles
at September 18th, 2012 (04:41 pm)
Hey hey!
Can anyone list all of the loli styles? I mean, down to the tiniest sub-style. I'm a newbie so I hope I can see all of them! Or you could just post a link or something...
Thank you!

Looking for: T-shirt into a Cutsew tutorial
at October 4th, 2011 (03:40 pm)
Hello there! Could anyone point me in the direction of a good tutorial for turning t-shirts into cutsews? And by t-shirt, I don't mean something fitted you buy at Delia's or Forever 21. I mean a regular t-shirt like you wear to sleep in or play sports or something. Basically, it's going to be rather large and need to be cut down some.
This has been cross posted to multiple forums.
Moar questions!

So the answer i got for the skirt question really helped me get an idea for my first skirt. All I'm lacking is an iron and board(silly hubby won't get me one -.-;). But thinking on it, I have more questions.
So petticoats are supposed to 'poof' out, depending on how much of a cupcake look you're going for. Does it have to be layered or tiered though? I found one where the woman just made three pieces the same width but varying lengths and she just sewed them all together. See here.
Another question: The pictures that I have seen of loli show just the bottom of their bloomers. Is it necessary to show them? Do you really have to? I know that Classic Loli has longer skirts so the bloomers aren't visible. I'm more of a classic type girl than the Sweet Loli, even though she's so cute!!
I read that lolis don't do short socks or bare legs. What if you wear tights that go all the way up to the waist? I realized that some of the ones that I might find loli-esque do go all the way up. This is a little embarrassing, but since I have come asking questions and advice; how would you wear the tights with bloomers? is it just like wearing a garter belt with undergarments over them? I just want to try and get all of these questions out of the way before I attempt to make anything or buy anything and then end up being completely wrong!
Please help! *deep bows*
First-timer with a question!

current mood: thoughtful
Hi everyone! I recently started getting into lolita fashion and I'm wanting to make my first skirt to start my collection. I found some tutorials for petticoats but I'm more concerned about the skirt itself. My biggest question is: how full should I try to make my skirt? I know a petticoat has to fit under it but I'm not sure how much fabric should go into the actual skirt. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated and welcomed!
ringmaster tailcoat
at January 9th, 2011 (02:56 pm)
I'm looking for a pattern/tutorial for a ringmaster tailcoat, preferably something free like scans or something. I want to make a loli ringmaster outfit. I already have a skirt, just need to get the other outfit pieces together. So does anyone have a good tutorial/pattern or know of one? Thanks in advance!

making a petticoat
at July 13th, 2010 (08:06 pm)
I am going to make a petticoat with my grandmother's help, and she suggested using this
skirt. (Sorry it's sideways. Can't get it turned right side up for some reason.) It would have to be shortened, but I'm unsure if it will be the right shape. Would it make a good base for some tulle or organza to go over?
Help! >.<;

Okay, so. I've just started making my own Lolita skirt. And, well.. it's too long. How can i make it shorter without cutting it? I don't want to cut it because i've already added lace. It's a three tier.

Hi everybody! Just letting you guys know that I've made a Home-made Lolita blog/website. I hope it will be useful to anybody new to sewing or to the Lolita fashion! :) Here is the address: http://homespunlolita.weebly.com/index.html
I might buy a domain name soon so the address may change soon but it will still be along the lines of Home-spun Lolita. Thanks!
