_5:48 pm_[lostinjersey] how to reach Tom Braidwood Is there a way to correspond to Tom braidwood? A number of years ago there was an XF CCG and I got Bruce harwood and Dean Haglund to both sign TLG card as well as Trust no1. This was a major coupe. (I also got Haglund to see his langley card, william Davis to sign the CSM card and X to sign his X card) but I never got Tom Braid wood's signature. I hauled out a box of old ccg cards and collectable cards and found these signed cards and I was egg-static.So... I searched the interweb but found nothing that would lead me to a way to send him my cards in a hope of a signature.Anyone know how to reach him?And for the curious, 40% of the signatures (and there are others, no Scully or Mulder though) were at cons, the other 60% I just mailed and asked them to and the actors were nice enough to comply. In fact Dean was the best because he signed 10 feet of toilet paper for me. Long story. he has a fantastic sense of humor, wish he'd tour again, I'd definitely pay to see him do stand up. _3:32 pm_[bitemetechie] -pokes head in-It's irrational that I always get nervy about posting to Lone Gunmen communities. Maybe it's just because I've been lurking at the edges for so long...Since new Gunfic is somewhat scarce these days, I thought I'd pop over and offer a link to an ongoing Lone Gunmen/Stargate crossover that's been in the works for the past two years. On the one hand, yay for you, new Gunfic to read! On the other hand, I think if I had passionate Gunfen to light a fire under me, the thing might actually get finished much faster. (After all, I've already won over the Stargate crowd, despite the fact the story hasn't featured many people outside the XF universe; y'all are who I really want to impress.)So, without further preamble:Title: Someone NoticedCharacters: Frohike, Langly, Byers, Jimmy, Yves, Morris Fletcher, Kimmy, Susanne Modeski, a handful of OCs...the list goes on...and on...and on....Rating: T (very little you wouldn't actually see on the show)Genres: Action/Adventure, drama and a smattering of humor.Summary: When the expedition to Atlantis began, several of the world's greatest minds were taken along for the ride. You're telling me no one on Earth noticed their absence? I'd like to think as a species we're slightly more observant than that.Follow the fake cut... (Comment on this)

_2:20 am_[bitemetechie] (Mods, if this goes too far against the rules, please don't hesitate to delete this post)A new fic archive has just opened up called The Inkspill and Quill and it welcomes Lone Gunmen fanfic. There aren't enough LGM friendly fic archives around, outside the Pit, anyway, so I thought I'd spread the word about this one. Have a gander! (1 Comment |Comment on this)

_12:05 pm_[silver_chipmunk] A hello post Long time X-files fan here, getting all excited about the upcoming movie. One of my favorite parts of the series were the Gunment, though somehow I managed to miss watching the series when it was on. I'm looking forward to getting the dvds though, and catching up.I started thinking about the Gunmen when the vid below was posted on the xfiles community, and searched around, found this com, and was delighted to see there was some current activity on it. So here I am! (1 Comment |Comment on this)
_1:59 am_[sweety167] Mission Statement… of sorts… First off, HI! I’ve been feeling nostalgic or something… so... You know what I miss the most about The Lone Gunmen/X-Files? That sense of community. Maybe because that was my first fandom, the first place I ever wrote fanfiction for…even before I knew fanfiction existed. Maybe because we were all so like minded. We had a common thread, a common loss, something that linked us. Sure, we were geeky, but that’s what was beautiful. The X-Files was one of the most intelligent shows around – I know I owe a lot of my vocabulary to its nine year run. So it breeds intelligent fans. Sure, there were ship wars (When are there not?) but even then, we got along. We’d curse out Chris Carter, but praise the writers. We’d have unbelievably long threads on the Fox Message Boards (…long before I knew LJ existed too…)The Lone Gunmen was the first place where I knew the other fans (only place really). They weren’t just usernames, they were people. AmazonX, Maidenjedi, Amy Jonas. They didn’t just know me; they knew my original character (Poor Anderea Jupitor). They helped me, the newbie that I was, with so much. The first, and only, fan site I ever built was an X-Files site. I miss these people, I miss that time – Six years has been such a long time. Sites have since closed, usernames have gone cold. But the fic, as they say, is out there. I can’t help but hope, maybe, with the new movie coming out in the summer, that life will breath again in the old fandom. Sure, some of our favourite characters are "dead" (Repeat the mantra: If we didn’t see the autopsy, they aren’t dead.), but the passion could still be there. And – as I fiddle around in this LJ community – I want to pose a fic challenge for anyone that’s still out there (haha punage was not intended): It’s been six years since "The Truth" where are they now? Anyone – Mulder, Scully, Doggett, Reyes, Skinner…hell, even Kersh, Spender, William, Gibson. Or if you’re so inclined, Susanne Modeski. Don’t forget Jimmy Bond and Yves. And ‘death’ be damned; Byers, Frohike, Langly, Krycek, the Cigarette-Smoking Man. I’d love to see thoughts, musings, anything. (X – Posted)Current Mood: drained (8 Comments |Comment on this)

_1:42 pm_[packmentality] Dean Haglund at Starfest, again. Probably should have mentioned this far before the day, but Dean Haglund is again appearing at Starfest in Denver, CO, today through Sunday. He'll be doing two improv shows. One tonight, with Denise Crosby, and one tomorrow night, with Gary Jones. I'll be attending the show on Saturday night, because I so <3 Gary Jones. :-)So, if any of you folks are Colorado locals, I hope to see you there. If you didn't catch a glimpse of me last year at Con (where I was an audience participant in Dean's show), I'll be wearing my infamous "P is for Porn" shirt again. So don't be afraid to say hello. Here's the pic from last year. What is this "shame" you speak of? :-P**( Me and Dean.Collapse )** Current Mood: bouncy (9 Comments |Comment on this)
