It appears that this volume begins with a flashback explaining Kantarou's scar.

In a fight with some kind of winged Oni-like creature named Kaa-san, Kaa pelts Kantarou with some kind of thrown feather/quill trick, but Kantarou reflects these back to Kaa. The forms of the feathers change to those of traditional Japanese weapons--a katana, a yari, a tessen, and an arrow, but it is unclear to me which side's magic caused the transformation. To Kantarou's surprise he hits his target, but for whatever reason (perhaps he missed a feather), he realizes he himself has been skewered in the chest by either a tanto or a kitchen knife, it's hard to tell.
I don't have time to scan this immediately, and I'm dictionary dependent to read the context so I can't give you a better interpretation on exactly what is going on.
The volume ends in a cliff-hanger.
(Aside: also, for some reason, a nine-tailed Kitsune is hanging out with Minamoto at the end of the volume.)

Looks like Volume 15 is available today - or yesterday I suppose for Japan.
Only one review on Amazon.co.jp so far, but it seems to be a positive one. Although my reading is mostly limited to Google Translate so that's not much help. :-) Something about Kan-chan and Edwards possibly...
On some level, it's just nice to know that there's still stuff happening.
Randomly, for everyone else still watching the community! I would like to know where the hangouts for tactics are on other sites. Been looking into Tumblr recently and realized that tactics has such a generic name, it catches all sort of other things there....
And then with LJ dying, it got me wondering: Where do we go? Especially if we want to rope in a scanlation group to pick up tactics again....
So, I was thinking, how about we put a sticky at the comm to let people know where the other hang-outs for tactics is? Or something like that...
Well, it looks like seeing various titles such as tactics, Monochrome Factor, and the Matantei Loki series have new life in an online shop was too good to be through. As of May 30, JManga is apparently closing up shop and points sale has been ceased, I believe?
Time to make backups, guys...
They managed to release volume until volume 12 of tactics...
following tactics? I sort of lost interest (somewhat) in it when hope of it being translated evaporated, especially with Tokyopop folding, but recently Jmanga has been translating it rather faithfully. I received an email from them with all their upcoming releases and volume 12 will be out next week (Thursday).
Gotta admit, Jmanga's continued translation of it has reignited my passion a bit. How about everyone else? :)
