We reported a while back about a Jessica Simpson film called Major Movie Star with a similar plot to Goldie's 1980 film Private Benjamin.

Now, the film is being sent straight to DVD and being renamed Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous.

So the plot similarities weren't enough? Now they have to copy the title, as well?

According to Perez Hilton, Goldie isn't pleased.

Andy Borowitz is a satirist and comedian from New York that posts Onion-esque faux news "shockers" that are sure to make anyone laugh out loud. He has included a big Goldie Hawn reference in his most recent article, taking aim at John McCain's VP pick Sarah Palin.

GOP Campaign Increasingly Resembling Unproduced Goldie Hawn Film
Eerie Parallels, Goldie Hawn Expert Says

The GOP campaign for the White House is looking more and more like the screenplay for an unproduced Goldie Hawn film from the 1980's, a Goldie Hawn film expert said today.

Davis Logsdon, who teaches at the University of Minnesota's School of Film and is considered the world's foremost expert in the cinema of Goldie Hawn, said that in choosing Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate Sen. John McCain was taking a leaf from an unproduced Hawn vehicle from 1984 titled "Contestant in Chief."

"In the screenplay, an evil presidential candidate chooses the American he thinks is the least likely to catch on to his nefarious plans to destroy the country," Professor Logsdon said. "Enter Goldie, a former beauty pageant contestant, small-town mayor and hockey mom."

In keeping with the formula of Goldie Hawn movies in the 1980's, "She turns out to be smarter than she looks and exposes her running mate on national TV, becoming President herself in the process."

But Professor Logsdon cautioned that in the case of this year's GOP ticket, life will probably imitate art only up to a point: "In real life, if Gov. Palin becomes President she will most likely ban abortions, destroy wildlife habitats and blow up the world."

Elsewhere, Gov. Palin said she was looking forward to the vice-presidential debate, or as she called it, "the talent competition."

Goldie Hawn's daughter, Kate Hudson, has been on the sly with the media regarding her relationship with Lance Armstrong. But maybe she's ready to take it public, if she's ready to have Lance meet Goldie.

Kate has always said that she admires Goldie and Kurt Russell's long lasting relationship, so mom's opinion must mean a lot and thankfully it sounds like the group had a blast. There were rumors years ago that Goldie didn't approve of Owen, but we wonder what she thinks about her daughter's newest boyfriend?

The three ate lunch at the Ivy by the Shore in Santa Monica, Calif.

AP: Goldie Hawn unhappy with Aspen paparazzi

Goldie Hawn says she can't go into Aspen from her nearby ranch because of aggressive paparazzi who pursue her car and stake out her home.

"They've come into our little town and they really have done their job: They've shooed us out," the 62-year-old actress told The Aspen Times in Thursday's editions.

Hawn and longtime companion Kurt Russell have been part-time Aspen-area residents for 25 years. In the past, she said, she could wander Aspen freely because the town attracted few celebrity photographers, and they were discreet.

Goldie also said that when her daughter, Kate Hudson, visits Aspen, she experiences the same problems with the paps. Goldie apparently complained to the mayor of Aspen, who sympathized with her yet said that Aspen is no longer a "safe haven" for celebs and that kicking out the paparazzi would violate the First Amendment.

My mother went to a motivational seminar called Get Motivated last week in Dallas, TX. It featured Zig Ziglar, Colin Powell and a host of other speakers that gave encouraging tips for business and life. Here's an article.

Anyway, my mom said that Goldie was delightful. She was giggly, laughing at her own jokes, but she was also inspirational. My mom told me some of the life stories Goldie shared, and I recognized some of them from her book A Lotus Grows In the Mud.

According to the site, Goldie will appear in several upcoming seminars:

Phoenix October 30
Columbus November 13
