It is my contention in this study that the tension of play between these two main forms of space-actualization is that which shapes the work phenomenologically as a highly space-sensitive and space-conscious text. The investigation uses a phenomenological method of analytic approach—meaning that analysis focuses on primary text-phenomena that by themselves (without any mediation from factors transcendent to them) have the capacity to throw revealing beams of light on the body of the literary work of art in which they are embedded and constituted. Understanding the text is understanding how phenomena central to it are actualized—how they are constituted.
