In the last couple of decades, communication technology has developed by leaps and bounds. It has... more In the last couple of decades, communication technology has developed by leaps and bounds. It has already established its importance in sharing the information right from household matters to worldwide phenomena. Apart from sharing information, it is also used for remote control of machines and electronic appliances. In our day-today life, we use many such appliances at home, office and public places for our comfort and convenience. Every device requires one or the other kind of operation control for which it has a HMI (human-machine interface). This is a combine project of measurement and control system. User can monitor the electrical parameters like Voltage, Current, Power and automatically send text to user using GSM module if power exceed the specific limit and will executes the commands from user on GSM module. The project make uses the arduino uno which is common technology. The microcontroller in arduino board provided with some built in memory to hold the code. The code is programmed using arduino programming language.

Fingerprints have always been considered as basic element for personal recognition. The performan... more Fingerprints have always been considered as basic element for personal recognition. The performance of fingerprint recognition system depends on minutiae which are extracted from raw fingerprint images. In this study, an efficient scheme for fingerprint recognition was proposed. Initially, the input image was enhanced using pre-processing techniques. After image enhancement, image segmentation was performed and minutiae extraction was done using ridge thinning and minutiae marking. To this end, false minutiae removal was done prior to final match. In the proposed scheme, inter ridge distance was finely tuned to improve the overall sensitivity of fingerprint identification which also reduced FAR and FRR considerably. The proposed scheme was evaluated using a dataset of 500 images taken from FVC 2002, FVC 2004 and FVC 2006 and showed better performance as compared to the previous methods.
