Magi-Nation (original) (raw)
Alternate Ullig card idea | Mar. 14th, 2013 @ 12:27 am |
---|
ssj_mato | Well, gEngine is gone. CCG Workshop is gone. I guess the only way to play Magi-Nation: Duel is if you kept your old cards. I'm glad I did. The cartoon by Cookie Jar still leaves me disappointment. All the changes they made, and all the good stuff that was cut out... The original fiction on the old website was so much better. Anyway, I was thinking recently about how to rework Ullig as a high energize card advantage/draw magi instead of an energy advantage/gain magi, but still keeping the them of attacking fearlessly. This is what I came up with: Ullig, Student of Battle Kybar's Teeth Magi - Alternate Energy: 15 Energize: 6 STARTING: Darge, Dewstone, Greater Garganor, Ullig's Slingshot Effect - Learn Through Fists: When your last creature in play is discarded by an opposing card, return it to your hand. If this is during your attack step, draw an additional card. "Some people are afraid of fights, but I like to see them as opportunities to learn."Current Mood: nostalgic Tags: magi-nation (Leave a comment) |

Card Game? Anyone? | Sep. 8th, 2008 @ 03:01 am |

fox_fire1 | Aside from this MMO I hear about, and the slightly disappointing cartoon I have seen, are they considering bringing back the TCG? I mean, that's what I thought was going to happen when the cartoon came out, wasn't it?And if it suddenly changed somehow while I've been hiatus, then well, SHIT.You can blame the cartoon. The cartoon got me thinking about the TCG, and the TCG forced my hand to pore over my cards once more. Perhaps a Nar deck this time? I sucked hard at Paradwyn. And I did love them so...(5 comments | Leave a comment) |

No GenCon report? | Oct. 12th, 2007 @ 12:41 pm |
---|
ssj_mato | Didn't anyone go to GenCon and play in the MND tournament this year? Someone must have a report. And did no one else see the cartoon on the CW Saturday morning? The fourth episode is supposed to air tomorrow. This comm must be pretty dead now... My feelings on the TV cartoon from Cookie Jar can be summed up as "with this animite, I magine disappointment..."(4 comments | Leave a comment) |

» Magi-Nation - Gen Con Events! |
---|
Hello Everyone! This is Matt, from the Milwaukee Magi-Nation League. I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you about the events we have planned for Gen Con: Indy this year. We’ve got quite a few new surprises in store for you! You can view the full event catalog on our website, Dreamtime Media. ---------------------------------- All Four Days of Gen Con – We will host free open gaming for Magi-Nation in the CCG Hall (Room 145) throughout the convention. Come on over and get in some pick-up games, trade with other players from across the country (and from around the world!) and have fun with others who love this game like we do! Thursday, August 10th – For the opening day of Gen Con, we are debuting our fast-paced new format, “Tag-Team Slinger!” In this variant on the Slinger format, players use three separate, one magi, twenty card decks to battle their opponent’s three decks. The twist, however, is that you can “tag-out” one magi (and that magi’s deck) to bring in another at the beginning of your turn! Check out the full rules in the event catalog online! After that, stick around for the Booster Draft! This Sealed Deck variant where you select cards individually in a “draft” setting is always a hit – sign up early to ensure your spot! Friday, August 11th – Friday is Team Day! We start things off with Team Sealed Deck, where players are split into two teams, each representing a particular region. Everyone gets starters of their region, and three supporting boosters to build their decks. However, in this variant, players are perfectly allowed to trade cards and strategy amongst their teammates! After the Team Sealed event, we’re running another Tag-Team Slinger tournament! The main event of the evening is the Team Championship. Fight for the honor of your local team, league, gaming group, etc! Teams should consist of no more than five people, though you will not be penalized for having fewer than five. Games will be played individually, but your placement is determined by your team’s overall performance. Team names, battle cries, themes, etc. are highly encouraged! Saturday, August 12th – This is it, the Gen Con Championship! Bring your best deck to show the world who’s boss in the biggest Magi-Nation event in the country! Later Saturday evening, be sure to check out the brand new “Iron Chef” event! This is a Constructed event where you actually build your deck from scratch on the spot, using any legal cards available to you in your collection. However, you must incorporate the “secret ingredient” that will be announced at the start of the event in your deck! (Copies of the “secret ingredient” will be provided if you need some.) Your placement in this event will be determined not only by your placement in a standard tournament, but also by your creative and stylistic usage of the “secret ingredient!” Full rules are available in the event catalog online. Sunday, August 13th – The final day of Gen Con features the Restricted format, where only a certain set of cards are legal for play. Without the popular staple cards, how will you rethink your strategy? The list of cards legal for use in Restricted in included in our online catalog. ---------------------------------- Full text rules for all formats are available in our online catalog at Dreamtime Media - http://www.dreamtimemedia.org/magi-nation. Any changes, updates, or announcements will be posted there throughout the convention, so check back frequently to be sure you didn’t miss anything! You can also email me [info [@at] dreamtimemedia [.dot] org] with any questions, comments, or concerns that you might have. Tournament winners, pictures, and other stuff will be posted online as well, so be sure to check it out! Hope to see you there! » Magi-Nation Forum-Based RP |
---|
Hey all;I'm a mod over on the Insiider.com forums (some of you may remember this site; it used to be the biggest MN news site around.) The forums are still alive and kicking, with most activity centered around the RP. We could use a few more members, if anyone's interested.A note: The RP is somewhat AU, having transferred our main storyline over to a planet called "Inix" in order to be able to deviate from the canon 2i Storyline. All the regions are still there, things work mostly the same, but there are a few little changes of our own creation. I personally find it an even more interesting world than the original Moonlands. Anyway, I thought I would post this and see if we could get any more players. Interested? Go RP!And if this is against community rules I do apologize. :OMay. 24th, 2006 @ 10:21 pm(1 comment | Leave a comment) |

Restricted play will force you to rethink your strategy by removing some of the most heavily played cards from the tournament environment. To play in a Restricted tournament, your deck may only contain cards found on the Restricted list. All other deck construction rules apply as usual. Each player gets 6 booster packs from the same set, and take turns choosing one card from it to keep before passing it on. Space is strictly limited to six-person groups, so the sooner you register, the better your chance of getting a spot. For full rules, see www.dreamtimemedia.org/magi-nation/.Magi-Nation: Duel - Team Sealed Deck, 8/11/2006 10:00:00 AM, $15.00, Event Limit: 20In this twist on Sealed Deck, players are divided into two teams, each representing one region. Players get one starter and three boosters from the set the region was featured in. Teams then work together to build their decks, sharing strategy, input, and even cards with each other! You may trade freely between members of your own team, but may NOT bring in cards from outside the game. Both the Magi-Nation and Interactive Imagination websites no longer exist. The domain names have expired.Yeah, so they're working on the cartoon. That doesn't really interest me. I miss being able to see all of the cards and check out the fiction. I even received a box of Magi-Nation boosters today. If they stuck with the card game I know I'd be a much happier person. And yes, I'm being selfish. And exaggerating. But this is frustrating.Feb. 22nd, 2006 @ 02:23 pm(2 comments | Leave a comment) |
