4EU+ IN A NUTSHELL: WATCH OUR VIDEO! Each new academic year brings change and development for the 4EU+ Alliance and our universities' communities – we are growing together. What is behind the One Comprehensive Research-intensive European University? How are we building the university of the future? What are the values that guide us? Take a look at our new video, which tells the story of what we do and what is important to us. 4EU+ ANNUAL MEETING IN MILAN The 4EU+ community will gather at the University of Milan on 7-9 November for the Annual Meeting 2023, which will take place this year under the theme #BuildingBridges – Becoming one European University. Since the launch of the 4EU+ European University Alliance back in 2019, we have jointly worked to build an interuniversity campus, bridging our communities and disciplines in and across research, education and service to society. Going forward, we will now look at our achievements as well as at the future challenges and opportunities to create a truly integrated European University. Become a 4EU+ student ambassador! We are excited to launch a new programme, aimed at students who share our enthusiasm for education and 4EU+ and feel able to share their knowledge and experience. What is the purpose? To help us strenghten our communication efforts and raise awareness about the Alliance, encourage student involvement in specific 4EU+ activities, and contribute to a growing, interactive student community! Shape the future of European higher education by completing our survey on the European Degree label! The ED-AFFICHE project is piloting a joint European Degree label, making it easier for universities to work together to create joint degree programmes and enabling European students to embark on a transnational, cross-cultural educational journey. The European Degree is created for students, so it must be shaped by students. Make your voice heard and play a pivotal role in making the European Degree a reality by completing our survey! Link to the survey >> More information on the initiative >> TRAIN4EU+ Webinar: Transfer from academia to business and society The event, organised by the team of the TRAIN4EU+ Work Package 4: Linking citizens-academia-business (led by Sorbonne University), will showcase the effectiveness of the link between academia and business based on the experience of 4EU+’s collaboration with its socio-economic partners. The event will be held on 27 November, fully online. Read more >> R&I in European Universities Alliances – Cross-Alliances Forum 2023 Co-organised by 4EU+ in the framework of the TRAIN4EU+ project, the conference (30 November - 1 December, Brussels) will present the results of completed and ongoing R&I projects within the European University Alliances. Plenary sessions, round table discussions, workshops and keynote speeches by high-level European policy makers and academic stakeholders are planned. Read more >> Universität Heidelberg has a new Rector With the start of the winter semester, molecular biologist Prof. Dr Frauke Melchior has taken up office as the new Rector of Heidelberg University. She follows geographer Prof. Dr Bernhard Eitel, who served as Rector of Ruperto Carola for 16 years. Prof. Melchior was installed as the new Rector during an academic ceremony in the New University building on 7 October. Read more >> 4EU+ Migration Studies and New Societies MAprogramme launched at the University of Milan The first students of the 4EU+ Master's degree programme have been officially welcomed at the University of Milan. The MA programme, developed by three 4EU+ universities (CU, UM and UW), will provide students with an in-depth understanding of sociopolitical opportunities and challenges posed by global and intra-EU migration. Read more >> Workshop on the social impacts of Covid-19 at the University of Geneva On 27 September, a workshop on "Covid and Precarity in Comparative Perspective" took place at the University of Geneva, organised in collaboration with the University of Milan and Sorbonne University. The workshop was part of a collective initiative within the 4EU+ Alliance**, setting the stage for upcoming summer schools and a joint Master's programme**.
