UT Austin Portugal Newsletter | Gathering pace for ambitious new challenges (original) (raw)

Newsletter #72 | February 2020
To say we are excited for 2020 is an understatement. We started this year with a retrospective look at 2019 – a year in which the UT Austin Portugal Program was able to operationalize the instruments set for Phase 3 and deliver on its mission and strategic goals, while relying on a even larger and more cohesive transatlantic community. The success achieved in 2019 raises the bar for the year that is now starting. Moving forward, we are determined to make our actions even more memorable and impact-driven. New research projects are about to begin, while others, from Phase 2, are coming to an end, producing new scientific knowledge with innovation potential; new educational activities are in the pipeline; the 2020 Annual Conference, which intends to replicate the success of the previous edition, is being prepared; enhanced opportunities for international cooperation are arising as a result of relations started last year; among other exciting prospects. So, in this first edition of 2020, the UT Austin Portugal Program newsletter highlights the 2019 Annual Report, where we uncover the cumulative work of the last 12 months. Take a look at our teaser video below! You can also read about our most recent news and events, including a brand new style of content - an exclusive vlog from a Portuguese researcher who spent the Fall of 2019 at TACC, within the scope of our Advanced Computing Training Program.
