This study examines the Kiribati's government and community response to Covid-19 pandemic. It bui... more This study examines the Kiribati's government and community response to Covid-19 pandemic. It builds on the existing studies and extends beyond what the existing studies have investigated by providing an overarching evaluation through the usage of in-depth interviews and survey questions with government officials, health professionals and community leaders. The existing studies focus more on secondary data using government sources whereas this study tends to combine both secondary data and primary data. The study assesses the effectiveness of foreign aid programs, utilization of funds by the government of Kiribati and public experiences and perception on the programs, and policies of the government as well as development partners to prepare the nation before Covid-19 pandemic came to Kiribati. The study has some challenges that include lack of funding, limited geographical coverage due to scattered islands across a vast ocean.
It is important to note that the study has not been implemented or carried out. However, it only lays out the foundation of my future research that I might work on only when time and funds allow. But this research proposal has been graded by my Professor here at the University of Hawaii at Manoa with exceptional grades which means that the actual project can begin anytime.

This is one of my area of interest that I really want to expand my knowledge and understanding on. There are not as many studies being conducted on the subject matter and so conducting the study will fill the gap in some of the existing literature which will help broaden our horizon in understanding the pivotal role technology plays in nonprofit organizations and how it helps them to financially manage their resources.
