This is one of the earliest studies that focused on exploring users’ post-usage behaviour. This paper aims to identify the significant factors that may affect existing consumers’ intentions to continue using of app-based ride-sourcing services in Egypt. Three robust models, namely the Expectation-Confirmation Model (ECM), the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and the Technology Readiness Model (TRM) were integrated and used as the theoretical framework for this study to accomplish this goal. An online questionnaire was used to collect the empirical data needed to test the hypotheses. The partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) technique has been used to evaluate the postulated relationships using data from 381 respondents. The results demonstrated the essential role that optimism, innovativeness, discomfort,...

Progressively, it has attracted the attention of academicians, practitioners, and policymakers worldwide. However, there needs to be more systematic review of research in the current literature that captures the current state of this new paradigm. This study aims to address this gap by conducting a comprehensive review of Industry 4.0 previous studies to identify its technological, organisational, and managerial enablers, as well as its implementation challenges and benefits. A systematic literature review was conducted, in which 244 peer-reviewed journal papers were analysed in the Scopus database until the end of May 2022. This study excluded conference papers, book chapters, and journal papers not written in English. The study indicated that industry 4.0 is still an immature topic, and applying this new paradigm is not a matter of technology only. Organisational and managerial aspects should be considered. Additionally, the transition towards Industry 4.0 is a complex task, many obstacles exist, and manufacturing companies should be aware of these challenges for successfully implementing this new paradigm. The obtained results in this study synthesise recent studies published on Industry 4.0 and provide a comprehensive picture of Industry 4.0 and potential research directions for future research. Also, this study offers significant guidelines for managers interested in implementing Industry 4.0.

The framework comprises three implementation phases namely: assessment of the current state, developing a future state, and stabilising the new way of operations. Additionally, the framework covers the enablers, factors, and appropriate lean tools required for the successful implementation of lean practices in Product-Service System (PSS), as well as, the challenges that may obstacle the implementation process. The proposed framework has integrated an assessment model that provides a quantifiable measure of the leanness level of

Despite the existence of numerous studies that examined the factors that affect entrepreneurial intention, most of them have concentrated on examining the impact of personal factors on developing entrepreneurial intention. Following the suggestions of recent studies to examine the environmental factors, this study focuses on examining the impact of entrepreneurial ecosystem factors in predicting entrepreneurial intention among university students in Saudi Arabia. The study adopted a quantitative approach using a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire as the data collection instrument directed to undergraduate business students enrolled at a public university in Saudi Arabia. The hypothesized relationships are tested with data collected from 259 respondents by using the multiple regression analysis. The empirical findings revealed that tw...

The data used to test the hypotheses were obtained through online questionnaire sent to undergraduate business students enrolled at a public university in Saudi Arabia. The hypothesized relationships are tested with data collected from 259 respondents by using the partial least squares structural equation modelling technique (PLS-SEM). The results show that students' perceptions of the entrepreneurial ecosystem affect entrepreneurial intentions both directly and indirectly through entrepreneurial self-efficacy. The findings of multigroup analysis confirmed the significant differences between male and female students in the influence of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on students’ entrepreneurial intention. The findings provide empirical evidence to policymakers in Saudi Arabia. They should focus on building an entrepreneurial ecosystem with adequate institutional infrastructure, support structures, and culture that supports and enhances students' self-efficacy and intention to become entrepreneurs. Moreover, the moderating effect of gender on self-efficacy and intention relationship suggests that policymakers should pay special attention to gender differences while they are developing their strategies and programs as tools that work with male students may not be suitable for females.

A combination of research methodology approaches have been used in this research. Starting from literature review to identify the critical success factors (CSFs) for lean implementation in both the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors. This was followed by interviewing the relevant key managers working in six UK manufacturing companies that successfully implement lean practices in the service offering process. Finally, results obtained were validated via workshops in the target companies. Five main enablers and 33 factors emerging from the main enablers are considered to be vital for the successful application of lean in PSS. The main enablers are management status, work process, customers' relationship, employees' status and finally, suppliers' relationship. Very little research has been conducted relating to the implementation of lean practices in PSS. This paper reports the first study that examines the factors determining the successful implementation of lean practices in PSS.

Lean thinking is claimed to be as important to services as it has been to manufacturing. However,... more Lean thinking is claimed to be as important to services as it has been to manufacturing. However, there is yet a lack of empirical research examining the possibility of applying lean thinking in Product-Service System (PSS). This paper aims to bridge this gap by focusing on the challenges of applying lean thinking in PSS. To achieve this aim, twenty interviews were conducted with participants that have a good experience in lean implementation. Those participants are working in UK manufacturing companies that implement PSS. Also, a comprehensive review of the published literature was executed to achieve a depth understanding of the various challenges already identified by other researchers. The findings highlight a number of challenges that emerge during the application of lean thinking in PSS, among them: understanding of lean, limited communication and leadership, and defining waste.

The purpose of this article is to present an innovative model to assess product-service system leanness incorporated with validating the model via three real-life case studies across various industries, thus improving the practical validity and relevance of the model. The model comprises three levels, namely, enablers, criteria and attributes. The first level contains five enablers, in the second level there are 21 criteria and finally the third level consists of 73 attributes. The development of the model was carried out through an iterative process. Starting from the literature review, going through semi-structured interviews with academic researchers involved in lean projects and ended with semi-structured interviews with a number of experts in the field of lean from five UK manufacturing companies. The model was validated by applying the model to compute the product-service system leanness level for three UK manufacturing companies and identifying areas for further improvement for these companies. The results indicate that the model is able to assess product-service system leanness level effectively and has a practical relevance.

However, little research effort was made to provide an instrument that can be used to measure the leanness level of the product-service system (PSS). This paper aims to propose an index to assess the leanness of PSS in a UK manufacturing company. Commencing from existing literature on lean manufacturing assessment and lean service assessment, the initial model for assessing PSS leanness was developed. This initial model was refined via two consecutive phases. The first one includes semi-structured interviews with academic researchers involved in lean projects where their comments were considered. In the second phase, semi-structured interviews with several experts working in different UK manufacturing industries and involved in lean and continuous improvement projects w...
