Konuşma sesi bozuklukları bireylerin akademik ve sosyal çevrelerinde psikolojik sorunlar yaşaması... more Konuşma sesi bozuklukları bireylerin akademik ve sosyal çevrelerinde psikolojik sorunlar yaşamasına neden olabilmektedir. Dil ve konuşma terapistlerinden profesyonel destek alan bireylerin bu kusuru düzeltmeleri mümkün olmasına rağmen, terapinin kısa sürede olumlu sonuçlar vermesi daha çok bireylerin kendi çabalarına bağlıdır. Terapistlerin bireylere ayırdıkları zamanın kısıtlı olması da göz önüne alındığında bireysel çalışmaların önemi artmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, EasyVR konuşma tanıma modülü Arduino Uno ile bütünleştirilerek bir ses işleme konuşma tanıma sistemi oluşturulmuştur. C# nesne yönelimli programlama dili kullanılarak kullanımı kolay Türkçe bir eğitim platformu hazırlanmıştır. Böylece bireylerin istedikleri zaman ve ortamda çalışmalarını gerçekleştirmelerine olanak sağlanmıştır. Sistem "r" sesinin artikülasyon probleminin düzeltilmesine yönelik olarak 3 zorluk seviyesinde 30 kelime ile test edilmiştir. 30 kişi üzerinde yapılan testler sonucunda, "r" sesi iyileştirme süreçlerinin bu eğitim platformu ile desteklendiğinde hızlandığı gözlenmiştir.

However, there may be a few who cannot use their hands permanently or temporarily among the students who are attending these courses. Therefore, the participation of disabled students in this part of the course has always been a problem. In this paper, a remote laboratory application that aims to increase the accessibility of electronic circuit design and analysis courses by using speech recognition technology is introduced. This laboratory is designed for hands‐free operation and enables students to analyze the electronic circuits by speaking. Traditional printed circuit board (PCB) laminates such as FR4 types are formed using epoxy resin ... more Traditional printed circuit board (PCB) laminates such as FR4 types are formed using epoxy resin and glass fiber. The most important problem with waste PCB laminates is that their recycling cycle is too long. Herein, we aimed to show whether it is possible to use plant-based fibers instead of petroleum-based fibers. In this study, we have fabricated alternative eco-friendly Luffa fiber-reinforced/epoxy PCB (Luffa-PCB) laminates using Luffa fiber instead of glass fiber. We examined the properties of Luffa-PCB laminates for potential applications as PCBs in terms of frequency dependence of dielectric permittivity, capacitance, ac conductivity, impedance, and electric modulus by using impedance spectroscopy method in a frequency ranging from 10 Hz to 10 MHz. Furthermore, we investigated the electrical resistivity properties of Luffa-PCB laminates using electrometer/high resistance meter and resistivity test fixture. All the results were compared with commonly used FR2- and FR4-type PCB laminates. According to the results obtained, it has been found that the produced Luffa-PCB laminates have adequate properties as an alternative to traditional laminates. Thus, a very important step is taken to solve the recycling problem by using plant-based fibers instead of glass fibers.

As they are directly related to people's health and social progress, food safety and quality ... more As they are directly related to people's health and social progress, food safety and quality are important issues in food industry. A rapid nondestructive sensing technique will be very useful to monitor and manage different working steps in horticultural production, at harvest as well as in pre-harvest and postharvest processing. Due to fast response, the influence of different external factors like geographical site, weather and soil conditions, nutrition status, and alike can be assessed early-on during plant development and the producer may take appropriate measures at an earlier date than conventional. External properties such as shape, color, size, firmness, and alike are indicators of internal properties, such as soluble solids content, acidity, vitamin content, sugar content, water content, and alike. Evaluating data obtained from preliminary laboratory studies by using a spectrophotometer, a prototype manually portable device which measures in 400 to 1100 nm wavelength range was developed. Thanks to LED light sources, thermal damage to the tested fruit tissue is prevented. Users can easily control the device and are able to monitor measurements with appropriate hardware and firmware interface. In addition, with measurement transmitted to a computer using Bluetooth technology, processing and assessment of data is easily managed.

Control and correction process of missing values (imputation of MVs) is the first stage of the pr... more Control and correction process of missing values (imputation of MVs) is the first stage of the preprocessing of microarray datasets. This paper focuses on a comparison of most reliable and up to date estimation methods to control and correct the missing values. Imputation of MVs has a very high priority because of its impact on next pre-processing and post-processing stages of microarray data analysis namely, quality control, normalization, differential gene expression, classification, clustering, and pathway analysis, etc. Normalized root mean square error (NRMSE) value is used to evaluate the performances of most popular five methods (k-nearest neighbors, Bayesian principal component analysis, local least squares, mean and median). When NRMSE values of methods were compared, it has observed that local least squares (LLS) and Bayesian principal component analysis (BPCA) methods outperformed all other methods in all percentages of MVs (1%, 5%, 10%, and 20%). BPCA method has given the best results in all percentages of MVs over the number of probes or genes, whereas LLS method has given the best results in all percentages of MVs over the number of samples. The advantage of these two methods over others is that they are least affected by the complexity of the data set.

As a rapid and nondestructive sensing technique, reflection spectroscopy is useful in monitoring ... more As a rapid and nondestructive sensing technique, reflection spectroscopy is useful in monitoring and managing horticultural production; in other words, the ripening of fruits and vegetables can be evaluated using reflection spectroscopy. Based on laboratory data obtained from an ultraviolet/visible/near-infrared (UV/Vis/NIR) spectrophotometer with a diffuse reflectance accessory, we developed a prototype handheld device. The device operates at a range of 400 nm to 1100 nm (blue, green, red, and NIR). LEDs, photodiodes, a microcontroller, digital-to-analog converters, a graphical LCD display, and a keypad were used for instrumentation. With our user-friendly software interface, measurements can be performed and controlled in real time, and measured data can be transferred to a computer using Bluetooth technology. This method of processing and evaluating data is easily managed.

Numerator systems are widely used in various fields, sorting, and structures to ensure regular fu... more Numerator systems are widely used in various fields, sorting, and structures to ensure regular functioning. They are used today in places such as banks and hospitals to minimize the time spent waiting in a queue, and various studies have been undertaken to achieve efficiency in the workplace. At the beginning of these studies, numerator systems, which have been integrated into the short message service (SMS) application, have been used efficiently. With this application, to supply the required information to the user in the fastest way, a numerator system is developed by utilizing radio frequency communications and the SMS message structure. The application system in this study includes hardware and software sections. The hardware section is designed using a keypad, microcontroller, and liquid crystal display as the user interface unit, and it also consists of a power supply feeding the system. The software section consists of the microcontrollers' required software to control and operate the system, software for the elements used as the user interface unit, and the menu program software that the users will notice.
