There are those who feel that they are standing on the dawn of a golden age while others feel that the threat of nuclear war will tear the nation apart. The fire of the Civil Rights Movement is beginning to blaze with men and women standing up against oppression at home, as costumed superheroes and criminals begin to make their presence known.Against this backdrop of conflict and change, a man named Charles Xavier is searching for others of his kind.Xavier sees the turmoil ahead. He believes that a war against mutants may soon be coming--he sees it in the reaction of Americans to the threat of the bomb and the fear of mutation. His friend, Erik Lehnsherr, argues that violence should be met with violence, that mutants should strike first and enslave those who would harm them. But Xavier is not a man quick to anger and instead, he is preparing a sanctuary for those who would band together for protection. It is not children that he seeks but men and women--in case the battle is brought to their front door.As movements march on and wars erupt, Xavier’s dream turns from fantasy to necessity. Where will it lead mutantkind?________________________________________Marvel: Art of War is an alternate universe game set in New York state during 1963 where the Xavier Institute is an establishment set up on paper as a thinktank. In actuality, its members work covertly to fight for justice, both personal and political.Art of War is looking for canon and original characters no younger than 18 years old. Because of the AU nature of the game, the mods and players look forward to creativity in applications as players re-imagine Marvel characters to fit that setting. It’s small and a touch dingy, the sign above it scratched out with the words Two Infinite Things. It matters not how you got here, but the minute you see it, you feel compelled to go in it. The bartender gives you a nod and goes back to serving drinks. It’s a crowded place, but has a familiar feel to it, as the oddly garbed and colorful patrons mingle together. Whether you take a seat at the bar and order a drink, hang against the wall, or play the old pinball machine in the corner, you begin to hear bits and pieces of gossip. It seems Duo City has become overrun with the criminal element as of late. Fortunately, at the same time, superheroes seem to have become drawn to the city. This particular bar, you discover, is a neutral ground for both the good and bad elements to mingle and mix. So now comes your decision. Do you stay in Duo to help with the rising element of crime or do you pay for your drink and leave, never looking back? If you do stay, will you toss your lot in with the heroes or with the criminals? The choice is yours. Welcome to the game of Second Generation Heroes._Second Generation Heroes is a panfandom game geared specifically towards comic muses that are the second generation of superheroes. RULES \| TAKEN	APPLICATION	CONTACT	PROFILE Founded by Victor, Team-X is a group PSL based on and around the X-Men Origins: Wolverine Movie. We started based around the Team-X group and have expanded in setting and direction. Movie-verse and Comic-verse X-Men characters are welcome; including Alternate Universe and Original Characters. Set in a military camp, each character is recruited to work for the military using their 'special' abilities and receiving a special kind of privilege. Not all the members of the team are here at their own request, and there are plots afoot to try and harness this powerful group to meet the military's own end. Each members motivation and loyalties are tested with the continuing influence and interference of Military Major William Stryker and associates.Team-X is a character driven PSL and over arching plots are encouraged; while there are storylines provided within the game, character development and interaction in the goal. Participation in plots and stories is not mandatory, but we encourage as much activity as possible. At current all applications are open and we welcome all based in the X-Men universe.

Only these powers were ten times stronger than anything they'd felt before. Some were able to control themselves, but others were not so lucky. Now, with security and safety uncertain, it seems the wall between humans and mutants is rising up again.Only days ago, and underground anti-mutant cell held its first official meeting. Tired of dealing with the mercurial habits of mutants, they have decided to retaliate against them. In just two weeks' time they will gather men and women from every walk of life, anyone who is willing to go in to Xavier's school with weapons drawn, and take as many mutants with them to hell as they can. Some are even mutants themselves, disgusted with what they may turn back into or have already returned to, and willing to strike a blow that could signify the ends of mutants.This is a movie!canonverse game to start, but it won't stay that way for long. The X-Men. The Fantastic Four. Defenders.Thunderbolts. Young Avengers. Runaways.These are just a few of the individual teams who stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. They fight megalomaniacal dictators, mutants who want to see mutants superior over humans, world devouring beings, terrorist organizations and sometimes they even fight each other. Marvel Legends is a roleplaying game that deals heroes and villains in the entire Marvel Universe. While we gladly accept applications for X-Men and Avengers, we encourage applications for Eternals, Defenders, Inhumans, Asgardians, and other characters off the beaten path. The Marvel Universe is a very big place and we would love to see characters from all areas.

He has opened his home, creating the Xavier Haven for Gifted Individuals, to all mutants who need help or seek to better the world with patience and understanding, using violence as a last resort. Impatient with the ignorance, fear and hatred of humans towards mutants, Erik Lensherr and his Acolytes broke away from the Haven and formed The Brotherhood of Mutants in order to pursue a dream of their own: Tolerance and acceptance now, not later. Convinced that only action will create change, they struggle to right the many injustices of the world. I don't just want to jump in now, because I'll have no idea what's going on, so I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions as to how far back I should go and what I should read.Thanks in advance!
