So, we had a suspected fraud stake-out yesterday at work. It was pretty exciting. There were these two ladies who had come in the day before and bought three 500giftcardsusingaIDverifiedcreditcard.Itwassomewhatsuspicious(becauseseriously,∗∗three∗∗500 gift cards using a ID verified credit card. It was somewhat suspicious (because seriously, three 500giftcardsusingaIDverifiedcreditcard.Itwassomewhatsuspicious(becauseseriously,∗∗three∗∗500 gift cards?), so we voided the transatction afterward.

Then a couple hours later we got a call from a Pier 1 that was about three hours away. They were calling because the people had tried to use the gift cards. We told them what had happened, and instead of getting like... I dunno, mad about the $1500 they hadn't got on their cards, the people just left instead. Odd.

Then yesterday ANOTHER Pier 1 store, again another two or three hours away in another direction, called to say that they'd purchased a bed set (headboard, frame, etc.), and they would like to purchase a footboard from our store. So these ladies had paid in cash this time, but had put down the same name on the order form as the other ladies. We thought they would be the same people.

So we got the security guard in our complex down to help us if there was a conflict or something, and we were all covert and, "They're gonna be driving a Uhaul van..." kinda things. Then the ladies came in and it was different ladies than who had been there before. BUT THEY PAID IN CASH! So we couldn't bust them on the credit cards. But we got to be all sneaky about it beforehand.

Anyway, if you couldn't tell, this was the most exciting thing that's happened to me in awhile, though maybe it's just because I read too many mystery novels.

And now I have to go to the video store to pick out some movie my Grandma and I can watch. I get grandma-sitting duty while my Grandpa goes to someone's funeral........ Then work until 7PM.
