The highly competitive environment in the cosmetic industry makes it a valuable area to study brand loyalty in cosmetic products. This study examined the effect of relevant entrepreneurial competencies on microenterprise perfor... more This study examined the effect of relevant entrepreneurial competencies on microenterprise performance in Malaysia. A cross-sectional design was adopted to collect quantitative data from 300 randomly selected micro-entrepreneurs from the National Poverty Data Bank database in Malaysia. Results showed a significant positive effect of conceptual, commitment, opportunity recognizing, and organizing competencies on microenterprise performance. Findings further revealed a significant negative effect of micro-entrepreneurs’ relationship competencies on their enterprise performance. It is recommended that in order to reduce poverty by creating an entrepreneurial economy, governments should make entrepreneurship the goal of public policy particularly focusing on the relevant competencies identified.

Data was collected from 306 employees working in higher education institutions. Structural equation modeling technique was utilized with the help of SmartPLS software. The findings of the study revealed a positive association of extroversion, openness to experiences and emotional stability with intrapreneurial behavior, while a negative impact of conscientiousness, agreeableness on intrapreneurial behavior was recorded. The findings of this study have several implications in the context of HEIs. To enhance the intrapreneurial behavior in the higher educational institutes, the management of the institutions should take positive steps to ensure that employees have personality traits which have shown a significant impact on the intraprenuerial behavior in this study. Empirical studies have demonstrated that microfinance plays a key role in poverty alleviation and could improve under privileged Muslims’ living standards. However, microfinance faces some challenges as majority of Muslims yet to apply and thus, underutilise the benefits therein. The contribution of this paper is to explore the relationship between the identified factors and the level of intention towards microfinance application. To further support this viewpoint, theory of planned behaviour is used to justify and predict the intention in this research. The analysis demonstrated that religion and religiosity, perceived Shariah compliant and Imam’s endorsement have significant impact towards the level of intention in microfinance application.

The ratings provided by the RAs address default risk of a sovereign borrower. These ratings are used to assess the ability of sovereigns in meeting their financial obligations. Simply put, these ratings are the RAs opinions about the sovereigns’ financial strength or lack of strength. Moreover, the RA activities may lead to lower degrees of information asymmetry in financial markets being judged by the amount of sovereign information they often provide and disclose to the investors.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of religiosity, religious leader’s endorsement, social influence and income on the intention to apply for Islamic microfinance among Muslims in Malaysia. Design/methodology/approach This study is based on a public survey to collect primary data from various states in Malaysia. Then, structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to analyse the data set. Findings The results of SEM indicate significant roles for religiosity and religious leader’s endorsement as religion-based factors on intention to apply for microfinance products. This research discusses the effect of significant demographic variables and ownership on the usage of credit card in Malaysia. The impacts of four key demographic variables are age, gender, education level, and income level on ownership and usage of credit card among credit cardholders in Malaysia. Whereas the income level has the strongest relationship among other demographic variables, it has to be taken into consideration by the credit card providers not just the ownership of credit card as well as the demographic variables while developing market strategy, particularly in Malaysia.

Hence, many organizations have been thinking to outsource activities which are not the core competence of the organization such as finance and accounting, information technology, human resources, and any other back-office activities. This research provides an understanding of the factors influencing of the organization intends to outsource the finance and accounting activities decision for the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia. The research uses a qualitative exploratory and explanatory method. The qualitative data collected via individual interviews with Malaysia Small and Medium Enterprises’ decision makers and a higher level of management group which comprises of individual or organizations. The results suggest that Malaysian SMEs would shorten their decision-making process to make a business process outsource if they can see the success story of other organizations.

This is due to females lack of knowledge and awareness about the breast screening. Therefore, the objective of this study is to explore the factors that influence females’ intention towards breast cancer early diagnosis with health belief model and provide practical recommendations. To evaluate the proposed hypotheses in this study, 600 self-administrated questionnaires were distributed to Malaysian female who is 18 years old and above with the usage of non-probable sampling approach (convenience sampling approach).
