I'm dumb I totally should’ve said something about this community at Spotlight last night to actually get people to join, oh well. I had several “lasts” last night, but I don’t think it’s all really sunk in yet. Well, I’ve got a final in about 20 minutes, so it’s time to do some last minute cramming.

The real first entry.... Wow, I’m really bad with intros. Usually they end up being epic descriptions of my life. But I’ll try to make this one short.
My name is Steve, I’m from Lombard, Illinois (born and raised in the West suburbs of Chicago- although I can’t stress enough that the suburbs are NEVER to be confused with the city- I love Chicago, but I’m not from there- thanks.). I go to school here at the University of Missouri, where I’m a junior (senior by credit) majoring in Magazine Journalism.
I live at McDavid Hall, of course, which has been my place of residence for three years. Overall, it’s been a great experience. Sometimes it gets to be an insufferable fishbowl of rumor-mongering (which being 21 and a little more mature than the 18 and 19 year olds running around- I have mostly been able to disassociate myself from), but overall it’s a great community of kids. It’s the smallest dorm on campus and getting to know the majority of people each year in the dorm is a great experience- and Spotlight, FARC FM, and Arts Advocates have been some of the most worthwhile things I’ve done in college. Each year, it gets a little worse, sadly. There are fewer and fewer returning upperclassmen and this leads to fewer role models and people who are able to invigorate the freshman with the kind of passion needed to make this place cool. Nonetheless, each year I meet some cool new freshman kids- and I love meeting new people. I’d say some of this year’s freshmen are as good of friends as anybody I’ve known on campus for 3 years. I won’t be living here next year (as I’ll be going to England first semester, and living off-campus second semester).
Anyway, back to me… I love music (literally any and all kinds- but mainly underground rock, hardcore, punk, and metal), activism (unapologetic leftist- not to be confused with liberals or radicals…), baseball (life-long White Sox fan), writing (isn’t that obvious), reading (which I can’t do as much of as I would like during the schoolyear- sweet burnout). That’s it. More people should join and post.
If you want more in depth info about who I am, you can check out any of my three (yeah, I am that huge of an internet dork) online journals.
These include: peacesrevenge and asblooddrivesby , the first one focuses on small little anecdotes and morsels about life in general, the latter on music. Also check out
< http://www.deadjournal.com/users/gothemocorekid > which is my oldest, most comprehensive and serious journal and in a hilarious catch-22, the one I update the least.

The really weak first post Yay! Other people joined the community(even if one of them is only my alterego), I don't really have time to write anything special, but I thought I should at least write something.
