Of lung cancer cases overall, 50% have metastasis at presentation, mostly to the brain, bone, liver, the adrenal glands ,thoracic cavity and non-regional lymph nodes .This case report presents a female patient with three rare sites of lung cancer metastasis: breast, colon, and skin. Her initial presentation was a several-month history of a mass in the left breast and in the upper abdominal wall, dyspepsia, weight loss, and intermittent per rectal bleeding. Diagnosis of this case was difficult because of the challenge to differentiate between primary breast cancer and metastasis. However, the diagnosis was made by the interpretation of images and immunohistochemistry.

Materials and Methods: The acquisition protocol and dosimetry data on the MPI procedures of five SPECT/CT scans and one PET/CT scan were collected. Data on technitum-99m sestamibi (99mTc-sestamibi), 99mTc-tetrofosmin, thallium-201 (201Tl), and rubidium-82 (82RB) were all collected from one centre via questionnaire booklets. Descriptive data analysis was used to analyse all variables, and the 50th percentile was used to analyse each radiation dose quantity. Results: The reported 50th percentile dose for a one-day stress/rest protocol using 99mTc-sestamibi (445/1147 MBq) and 99mTc-tetrofosmin (445/1147 MBq) and for a two-day stress/rest protocol using 99mTc-sestamibi (1165/1184 MBq) and 99mTc-tetrofosmin (1221/1184 MBq) are in good agreement...

Controversies regarding the aggressiveness of the clinical presentation and the ideal therapeutic approach remain among the scientific community. The current recommendations and staging systems are based on data generated by studies in adults, and this might lead to overtreating in some cases as well as undertreating in others. Our objective was to evaluate the presentation, the contribution of therapy by iodine 131 and long‒term outcome in patients with pediatric DTC and to analyze factors that can influence the success of post ablation by iodine 131. Patients and methods: In this retrospective study, presentation, therapy with iodine 131and outcome of patients with pediatric DTC (age at diagnosis ≤21y) treated in the nuclear medicine department of king Fahd medical city, between 2006 and 2018 were assessed using medical records. Results: We identified 53 patie...

We developed a deep learning and radiomics framework to perform lesion-level and patient-level classification on PSMA PET images of patients with PCa. Methods This was an IRB-approved, HIPAA-compliant, retrospective study. Lesions on [18F]DCFPyL PET/CT scans were assigned to PSMA reporting and data system (PSMA-RADS) categories and randomly partitioned into training, validation, and test sets. The framework extracted image features, radiomic features, and tissue type information from a cropped PET image slice containing a lesion and performed PSMA-RADS and PCa classification. Performance was evaluated by assessing the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC). A t-distributed stochastic neighbor embeddi...

Only a few cases have been published in the French and English literature and even fewer cases have been reported in female patients more than 60 years old. Recent studies showed that the incidence of thyroid cancer as a second malignancy following breast cancer has dramatically increased during the past 15 years. In this study, we report a case of 56 year-old lady, known to have metastatic breast ductal carcinoma, with synchronous poorly differentiated thyroid carcinoma and the appropriate literature is thoroughly reviewed. A 57-year-old man with stage IIIB malignant melanoma of unknown primary presented for pretherapy ... more A 57-year-old man with stage IIIB malignant melanoma of unknown primary presented for pretherapy FDG PET/CT that demonstrated metastatic left cervical lymph node with no other site of involvement. Following left neck dissection, nivolumab was initiated. Follow-up FDG PET/CT 3 months after initiation of nivolumab demonstrated extensive radiotracer-avid chest lymphadenopathy and multiple bone lesions. Ultrasound-guided endobronchial biopsy of the mediastinal lymph nodes demonstrated sarcoidosis.

Gynecological malignancies have been increasing in incidence in the last decades. Delay in diagnosis and management have led to worsening prognosis among the patients. Lowering the threshold in suspecting these tumors, may significantly improve the patients’ overall survival. In this review we will address the role of FDG-PET/CT in diagnosing, staging, assessing the response to therapy and predicting survival in gynecological malignancies, namely endometrial, ovarian and cervical cancer. We will briefly compare the diagnosing ability of PET/MRI to PET/CT. We will address the interesting fact about simultaneously utilizing the Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) with the Standardized Uptake Value (SUV) in hybrid MRI imaging and we will also discuss about the role of PET/MRI in diagnosing primary and recurrent gynecological malignancies.

Tumor necrosis has been repeated-ly shown to be an important prognostic factor in soft-tissue sarcomas with respect to overall and metastasis-free survival [3]. New prognos-tic models (e.g., the SING [size, invasion, ne-crosis, growth] model) have been proposed that include necrosis as one of the main variables [4]. The problem with necrosis on pathology as a prognostic variable is significant interob-server variation in pathologic assessment of a biopsy or surgical specimen, because no more than 60–70 % concordance is obtained between (even specialized) observers [5–7]. The left hemitongue had increased activity as compared with the right. This was not the result of the presence of a metastasis to the tongue or underlying gross tumors, as shown by a negative magnetic resonance imaging brain and failure to demonstrate a lesion over a period of weeks. Uptake was likely related to the left hemiglossal muscle activity. This was made more apparent by decreased uptake on the right side of the tongue (up to the midline) as a result of cranial nerve hypoglossal injury.
