2016 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (APSYM), 2016

This paper describes the effect of wire with small circular ground plane size (radius < λ/20) ... more This paper describes the effect of wire with small circular ground plane size (radius < λ/20) for normal mode helical antenna at which resonance condition is achieved without using any external impedance matching network. A comparative study of variation in performance of helical antenna with respect to variation in thickness of wire and ground plane size at 1.8 GHz is carried out using simulation. By comparing various results, appropriate values of the parameters are selected and the proposed antenna has been fabricated and results are experimentally validated.

Global warming which is the greatest threat to our planet causes grave damages to our water bodies. This gives the need to analyze the land use and land cover of our planet. This paper presents a review on how the analysis is done to estimate the total land use and land cover using various techniques like supervised, unsupervised and hybrid classification, digitization etc. It also provides adequate information on software packages like GIS, ERDAS IMAGINE etc.

Image segmentation is one of the most important pre-processing stages in computer vision to classify similar pixels to one cluster. Clustered pixels have the same attributes such as texture, color and intensity. The most famous segmentation techniques are edge based techniques, region based techniques, clustering based techniques and watershed based techniques. To overcome non continuity and non differentiability there is an introduction of a new method based on the curvelet transform, which represents edge better than wavelet. My work is related to extracting objects from images by detecting edges based on the watershed and curvelet tran...

The decision-feedback differential detection method is employed to detect PSK signals. In this method an “error signal ” is used to update the tap weights and the estimated code delay. By increasing the number of feedback symbols we can improve the performance of the proposed noncoherent receiver. With the large number of feedback symbols, the optimum weight can be derived analytically, and the performance of the proposed noncoherent receiver matches to that of the conventional coherent receiver. Simulations are shown in support.

2017 IEEE Applied Electromagnetics Conference (AEMC), 2017

This paper describes the effect of variation of height on the performance of normal mode helical ... more This paper describes the effect of variation of height on the performance of normal mode helical antenna (NMHA) for fixed length of wire and small circular ground plane. The performance of NMHA with respect to variation in thickness of wire and ground plane size has also been carried out. After studying the effects of various parameters, appropriate values of the parameters are selected and the prototype antenna has been fabricated for operation around 2.45 GHz. The measured results are in good agreement with simulated results.

In this project, an effective scheme is proposed to achieve asynchronous distributed transmission with the Golden Code, over a two‐hop MIMO relay channel. And also two detection methods are adopted i.e. maximum likelihood (ML) decoding and sphere decoding (SD) within the asynchronous relay network. In addition, full maximum‐ likelihood (ML) decoding and sphere decoding (SD) is adopted as the detection approach within the asynchronous relay network. Simulation results based on end‐to‐end bit error rate confirms that this approach gives the positive results. Keywords— Golden code ,full rate, full diversity, maximum‐likelihood decoding, sphere decoding.

The substrate and dielectric load of MSA are made up of silicone rubber polymer, which has measured dielectric constant of 5.01 at 1 GHz. The resonant frequency of MSA is 24.35 GHz (K Band). Significant gain improvement of over 3 dB is obtained when the MSA is loaded with dielectric. The value of VSWR is also less than 2 in frequency range from 24.25 to 24.45 GHz. Measured results indicate that efficient directive radiation pattern is generated by the antenna in the frequency band of interest and is suitable candidate for Digital Electronic Message Service (DEMS) applications such as two-way high-speed communication and transfer of graphic images. The design and simulation of the MSA is carried using Computer Simulation Technology studio suite.

We utilize Extrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) charts to optimize the power allocation in a mul... more We utilize Extrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) charts to optimize the power allocation in a multiuser CDMA system. We investigate two methods to obtain the optimal power levels: the first minimizes the total power; the second minimizes the area between the transfer curves of the interference canceller (IC) or turbo decoder. We show through simulation that the optimized power levels allow for successful decoding of heavily loaded systems. The optimal decoding schedule is derived dynamically using the power optimized EXIT chart and a Viterbi search algorithm. Dynamic scheduling is shown to be a more flexible approach which results in a more stable QoS for a typical system configuration than one-shot scheduling, and large complexity savings over a receiver without scheduling. We propose dynamic decoding schedule optimization to fix the problem, that is, on each iteration of the receiver derive the optimal schedule to achieve a target bit error rate using a minimum number of turbo dec...

Microstrip antenna offers linear or circular polarization. Three different patches are designed and their results are compared. This comparison helps in deciding the best shape of the patch which can be chosen for designing the antenna array for RFID reader[1]. HFSS simulation software is used to design patch and compute the various antenna parameters like return loss(S11), directive gain, VSWR, axial ratio etc.
