kasdan @ 9:09pm: getting into full classes what are your strategies for getting into full classes? there are 0 seats left (not even ones reserved for people in the program) and it started tonight, but nobody's dropped it in time for me to pick it up yet. has anybody tried just going to the class then kindly asking the faculty to add them in later in the semester? it's my final semester so i can't risk them turning me down :/

ithinkimhungry @ 10:13am: Okay I graduated in 2006 and am not sure about this. Is there an online option for transcript requests? Or, do I still have to go to campus?

I live in Hamilton but ugh! it's still far and I'd rather do it from home but I can't seem to find an online option.

lisforlaura @ 5:58pm: a little bit of insight Scenario: I go to McMaster University. Somebody at McMaster University sold me a printer that was supposed to work and "in mint condition." It didn't work, I contacted her about it and she promptly blocked me on Facebook (I found her in Marketplace). Basically, the situation has become that she refuses to refund me the money and has avoided all my messages and numerous ways of trying to contact her. She brought in her little sister instead who she claimed she was selling the printer for, who ended up doing the exact same thing. The little sister was very nice at first and said she would refund me back my money. It all seemed good until she decided to ignore all of my messages as well. So.. I've got nothing. I'm not pleased and I feel scammed - I'm pretty sure they knew they were selling me a broken printer and were trying to make money off of silly me.

A friend of mine who looked into this for me told me that I could go to a certain office at McMaster University and basically report her for scamming me and deal with it through them.

My question is, does anyone know if this is even possible? The transaction occurred outside of school. Yes, we both go to McMaster University but does that mean it has anything to do with McMaster? The idea seems strange to me, so I'm looking for an outside opinion.

I know this seems very 'tattle tale' but the very thought of how very low these two sisters are just angers me. I've tried reasoning, discussing it, offering them to have a go at the printer to see if it could be fixed, and it's been dragged out for three monthes and all I want is a little bit of justice.

Thanks!

Hi!

Has anyone taken French 1Z06?

I'm an elementary teacher looking to gain basic grammatical, oral and written skills in French - enough to be able to answer oral questions in an interview and the ability to teach Core French to grades 4-8.

Do you think taking this course will help me?

What were your thoughts after taking it?

Thanks :D

Hello, I'm new.
I should have joined a long time ago. I'm a Grad student in Physics at McMaster. Not really involved in any groups yet - maybe after midterms..

Never rent from Transglobe. People deal with bad landlords all the time, so I thought i'd tell you all so that you didnt have to deal with this one - anywhere in Canada.

genderpac @ 4:35pm:

The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young. GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed.

The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFEtm campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution

Fill out the survey at: www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student.

While we greatly appreciate the interest taken in GENIUS by students, staff and faculty at academic institutions outside of the United States, at this time GENIUS is only able to track schools based in the United States.

mosquie @ 4:46pm: interesting electives?? Hey everyone.

Have any of you taken any interesting electives during your years here at Mac? I need to fill in 4 electives for my last year, and I can never find anything interesting. I'm not necessarily asking for bird courses, just something fun and different. I was kind of thinking of taking an introductory french or italian, but those might conflict with some of my other courses. Any insight would be awesome! Thanks!
