The aim of this study is to examine the effect of trade wars between countries on social factors.... more The aim of this study is to examine the effect of trade wars between countries on social factors. For this purpose, six different criteria are selected based on the comprehensive literature review. Additionally, fuzzy DEMATEL approach is considered to weight these criteria. The findings indicate that working life is the most significant criterion. However, free time and leisure and family are at the bottom of the list. Additionally, it is also defined that working life is the most influencing criterion. These results demonstrate that trade wars have the highest impact on the working life of the people. In other sayings, people’s fear of losing their jobs goes up in case of the trade wars. To solve this problem, companies should make official statements to their employees about the situation caused by the trade wars. By making clear explanations, uncertainties in this process can be minimized.

In this context, the annual data of Turkey on a range of 1970–2017 are included in the study period. On the other hand, these data are tested with the help of Toda Yamamoto causality analysis. Thus, it will be possible to determine whether there is a strong relationship between the two variables. According to the obtained results of the analysis, it is defined that there is a causal relationship from labor productivity to economic growth in Turkey. Based on these results, it can be said that labor productivity should rise in order to increase economic development in Turkey. For this purpose, educational programs in Turkey can be revised with the help of a detailed study. In this process, cooperation with companies to understand the needs in the market plays a key role. Bu çalışmada COVID-19 salgının yarattığı ekonomik tahribata yönelik olarak, Türkiye için en optim... more Bu çalışmada COVID-19 salgının yarattığı ekonomik tahribata yönelik olarak, Türkiye için en optimal ekonomik kurtarma paketinin belirlenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Çalışmanın analiz süreci iki farklı aşamadan oluşmaktadır. İlk olarak, geniş bir literatür taraması yapılarak, ekonomik kurtarma paketlerinin içerisinde yer alabilecek farklı önlem türleri belirlenmiştir. Bu çerçevede, 3 farklı gruba yönelik olarak 9 değişik teşvik türü seçilmiştir. Analiz sürecinin ikinci aşamasında ise DEMATEL yöntemi kullanılarak hangi faktörlerin daha öncelikli olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Netice itibarıyla, faizsiz kredi desteği bu çerçevede en fazla önem ağırlığına sahip kriter olarak belirlenmiştir. Ek olarak, Kredi Garanti Fonu limitlerinin yükseltilmesi de öncelik verilmesi gereken başka bir konudur. Bu bilgiler dikkate alındığında, COVID-19 salgınına yönelik oluşturulacak ekonomik kurtarma paketinde KOBİ'lerin önceliklendirilmesi yerinde olacaktır.

In this context, countries aim to determine effective and correct policies to achieve this goal. This situation is especially important for developing countries. These countries aim to grow their economies to reach the level of developed countries. This study aims to identify significant Islamic moral principles for sustainable economic growth of emerging seven (E7) countries. Design/methodology/approach In this framework, eight different criteria are defined to improve the welfare in the society for these countries. The economic crisis is an important event that hurts societies. Communication between the market ... more The economic crisis is an important event that hurts societies. Communication between the market and the authorities is an important factor in economic crisis situations. Because if the communication is established in a healthy way, economic crises in the future may not be repeated. In this context, the chapter deals with the economic crisis of 1997 in the Asian region as part of crisis communication. In the study conducted with Logit method, data belonging to the period 1975-2006 were used. In addition, the variables used frequently in the literature were considered as data set indicators. The results indicate that economic growth, financial credit, and money supply are important indicators affecting the crisis. Indeed, the emergence of the crisis with these variables reveals that there was a communication problem in the Asian region. Considering this experience, it has been suggested that Asia and other countries should care about the communication tools.

Three different Islamic banks operating in Turkey were taken to the scope of review. Within this framework, six different variables that are important for the banking sector have been identified. The data of these variables in the 2010-2018 period were analyzed by ARIMA method, and six different models were established. As a result, it is predicted that Islamic banking will grow in the future, and its profitability will increase. However, the ratio of non-performing loans is expected to increase, and capital is expected to decrease. Therefore, Islamic banks should be more cautious in this growth process. In this context, it is important to conduct an effective credibility analysis of customers to be loaned. This situation has a contributing effect on the sustainable economic development of the country.

For this purpose, a novel approach could be provided for soft computing with Gaussian-based fuzzy DEMATEL approach to understand the significant levels and impact-relation degrees of these criteria. For robustness check, this evaluation has also been performed for triangular and trapezoidal fuzzy sets. There are many novelties of this study. Firstly, computer science has a significant role in the decision-making process. Another specificity is that the use of Gaussian numbers with fuzzy numbers is a new area. In addition, interval type-2 fuzzy (IT2F) sets also provide a significant advantage in decision-making under uncertainty. Some are concerned only with ethical banking, while others seek to establish a financial system based on social responsibility to society and people. The studies essentially bring attention to the question of how banks should act in the face of the moral-economic dilemma. In fact, ethical aspect is much more valuable than economic profitability and includes a social responsibility approach. In the concept of ethical concerns and corporate social responposibility, the literature has been reviewed and problematic areas discussed for ethical and Islamic banking. Islamic finance and specifically Islamic banking can be seen as a new practice to bring corporate ethical responsibility and social justice into the financial and economic spheres.

The unemployment problem became more significant, especially after COVID-19 pandemics This situat... more The unemployment problem became more significant, especially after COVID-19 pandemics This situation affected both developing and developed countries in a negative manner Hence, the policies implemented by the states to prevent unemployment were also carefully considered during this process Within this scope, various suggestions of ILO and OECD institutions have been made regarding these strategies This study aims to identify the significant strategies countries should develop to reduce unemployment For this purpose, 10 basic strategies offered by OECD to reduce the unemployment problem are considered Moreover, an evaluation has been carried out by considering fuzzy DEMATEL methodology The findings demonstrate that ensuring adequate income protection is the most appropriate criterion to minimize the unemployment problem in the COVID-19 process During the pandemic period, economic rescue packages were announced by many governments and institutions Despite all this support, millions of people lost their jobs in this process Considering the analysis results obtained in this study, it would be appropriate for governments to focus primarily on the unemployed In this framework, the implementation of strategies that will prevent citizens from being unemployed will contribute to the solution of this problem Despite all these efforts, there may still be people losing their jobs in this process Therefore, income-generating policies should be implemented especially for these people For this purpose, the duration of unemployment benefits may be extended In this way, it will be easier to combat the unemployment problem caused by the COVID-19 pandemic © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG

Abstract This study aims to identify appropriate innovative strategies for solar energy investmen... more Abstract This study aims to identify appropriate innovative strategies for solar energy investments for both commercial and non-commercial users. For this purpose, TRIZ-based 8 different innovative strategies are identified. Later, these strategies are weighted with the interval type-2 fuzzy DEMATEL (IT2 FDEMATEL) method to define more important strategies. Thus, the main motivation of this study is to figure out the weights of the strategies for solar energy investments The findings indicate that the replacement of mechanical system is found as the most effective TRIZ-based investment strategy for solar energy projects regarding both commercial and non-commercial customers. Thus, it is recommended that solar energy companies should give special support to their customers with respect to the security issues. Moreover, local quality is another significant strategy for commercial users. Therefore, it will be appropriate to provide special services according to the characteristics of the customers. Within this framework, having distribution centers close to customers and employing customer representatives who know well the culture of that region can be very helpful. Additionally, cushion in advance is found as another appropriate TRIZ-based innovative strategy for commercial customers. Hence, it would be appropriate to ensure the security in solar panels. Within this context, necessary measures should be taken for problems such as electric shock, material destruction, theft, and risk of destroying data on the computer.

Medine pazarı olarak adlandırılacak bu pazar bizzat Hz. Peygamber'in vaz ettiği emir ve yasaklara göre oluşturulmuştur. Medine pazarının kendine özgü kuralları ve uygulamaları vardı. Çarşı ve pazarda yapılan ticari işlemlerin İslami kurallara ve ahlaka uygunluğunu denetleyen müessesenin adı hisbe olarak tanımlanmış, devlet tarafından görevlendirilen denetçiler ise muhtesib kelimesiyle adlandırılmıştır. Öte tarafta Grekçe bir kelime olan agoranamos pazar denetçisi anlamına gelmektedir. Agora şehrin merkezi, agoranomos da merkezinden sorumlu kişiydi. Roma döneminde agoranomos pazar denetçisi olarak pazar vergilerini ve cezaları toplamak, pazar asayişini sağlamak, suçluları kırbaçlamak, yolların temizliğini sağlamak, fiyatları kontrol etmek, yeterli gıdanın olup olmadığını gözetmek gibi mesuliyetleri vardı. Muhtesib ile Agoranomos pazar denetçisi olarak benzer birçok fonksiyona sahip olmakla birlikte, gerek kavramsal olarak farklı hususiyete sahip olmak gerekse de pratik uygulamalarda farklı kuralları uygulamak açısından farklılaşırlar.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye'deki ekonomik büyüme, bankacılık sektörü ve sanayi üretimi arasındak... more Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye'deki ekonomik büyüme, bankacılık sektörü ve sanayi üretimi arasındaki karşılıklı ilişkinin belirlenmesidir. Bu çerçevede, 1980-2018 dönem aralığındaki yıllık veriler Vektör Otoregresyon (VAR) modeliyle test edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, ekonomik büyüme ve banka kredileri arasında karşılıklı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ekonomik büyümenin azalmasının bir sonraki dönemde banka kredileri üzerinde artırıcı bir etki yaratacağı belirlenmiştir. Buna paralel olarak, banka kredilerinin de bir dönem sonraki ekonomik büyümeyi pozitif yönde etkilediği görülmektedir. Söz konusu bulgular dikkate alındığında, uzun vadeli ve sürdürülebilir ekonomi için bankacılık sektörünün etkin bir şekilde faaliyetini sürdürebilmesi oldukça önemlidir. Diğer taraftan, bankaların kredi verirken müşterilerinin kredibilite analizini doğru bir şekilde yaparak müşterilerin risk profillerini belirleyebilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu bağlamda, bankacılık sektörüne yönelik yapılacak yasal düzenlemeler önemli rol oynamaktadır. Söz konusu düzenlemeler ile hem bankacılık sektörünün etkinliğinin artırılması hem de bankaların arışı risk almasını önüne geçilmesi gerekmektedir.

This study aims to identify the factors affecting economic inequality in emerging seven (E7) coun... more This study aims to identify the factors affecting economic inequality in emerging seven (E7) countries. Within this framework, first, a wide literature review has been made and 12 different criteria which are thought to affect economic inequality have been determined. These criteria were weighted according to their importance with the help of interval type-2 (IT2) fuzzy Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) method. Then, by using these weighted criteria, the E7 countries were ranked according to economic equality performance with IT2 fuzzy Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MOORA) and IT2 fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methods. The findings show that fair taxation, the equality of education provided by the state, and the uncontrolled growth of financial markets have a significant effect on the economic inequality. Değerlendirmemize konu olan ve ilk baskısı 2003 yılında yapılan İktisat ve Ahlâk, yazarın "Ahlâk ile iktisat arasında ne tür ilişkiler vardır?" sorusuyla yoğun olarak ilgilenmeye başladığını ifade ettiği, "İslâm, Sivil Toplum ve Piyasa Ekonomisi" konulu uluslar arası sempozyuma (1999) hazırladığı tebliğ sonrasında meydana gelmiştir.
