In the past, perfectionism has been examined as a negative concept, yet recently it is being studied as a multi-dimensional construct in terms of both its positive and negative aspects. In light of current research, this study examined perfectionism with its adaptive and maladaptive dimensions and focused on the relation between these dimensions and self-esteem, workaholism and burnout, with the goal of contributing to the literature on employee well-being. In literature, despite the existence of studies that showed the association between perfectionism and burnout, there is a scarcity of research conducted on the mediating variables between these two constructs. This paper examined how perfectionism relates to burnout in the workplace by investigating the mediating role of self-esteem and workaholism and the relationship between these two constructs using a serial mediation model. A self-report questionnaire of key constructs was provided to a sample of 224 (63.4% women) Turkish employees. Correlation analyses and serial mediation analyses were conducted to test the proposed relations and mediating hypotheses. According to the results, maladaptive perfectionism is strongly related to burnout, to the extent that the mediational effects of selfesteem and workaholism are cancelled in the process. Adaptive perfectionism, however, does not have a direct effect on burnout, though it yielded a significant relationship with it through the mediation of self-esteem and workaholism. However, the total indirect effect for serial mediation between adaptive perfectionism and burnout was found to be insignificant. The findings add to the current literature findings by shedding light on the relationship between perfectionism and burnout as well as revealing the underlying mechanisms linking these two concepts.

Uçuş kaygısı, geçmiş deneyimler ve öğrenme, kişilik ve bilişsel özellikler ile ilişkili farklı fa... more Uçuş kaygısı, geçmiş deneyimler ve öğrenme, kişilik ve bilişsel özellikler ile ilişkili farklı faktörlerle bağlantılı olarak deneyimlenebilmektedir. Uluslararası çalışmaların çeşitliliğine rağmen, Türkçe alanyazında bu konuya yönelik çalışmaların kısıtlı oluşu dikkat çekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, uçuş kaygısının kaygı duyarlılığı, belirsizliğe tahammülsüzlük, kontrol odağı ve üstbiliş ile ilişkilerinin Türk toplumu örnekleminde incelenmesidir. Çalışmaya 18-73 yaş arası (Ort. = 35, SS = 11.23) 887 kişi (%63 kadın) katılmıştır. Veri toplama araçları olarak Sosyodemografik Bilgi Formu, Anksiyete Duyarlılığı İndeksi-3, Belirsizliğe Tahammülsüzlük Ölçeği, Kontrol Odağı Ölçeği, Üstbilişler Ölçeği-30, Uçuş Kaygısı Durumları Anketi ve Uçuş Kaygısı Tarzı Anketi kullanılmıştır. Kaygı duyarlılığı, belirsizliğe tahammülsüzlük, dış kontrol odağı ve üstbilişin uçuş kaygısı durumları, uçuş kaygısı tarzı-bedensel ve bilişsel belirtiler ile pozitif yönde ilişkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, bu değişkenler uçuş kaygısı durumları, uçuş kaygısı tarzı-bedensel ve bilişsel belirtileri ayrı ayrı yordamaktadır. Model analizlerinde kaygı duyarlılığı ile uçuş kaygısı tarzı-bedensel belirtiler arasındaki ilişkide kontrol odağının düzenleyici rolü olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, kaygı duyarlılığı ve belirsizliğe tahammülsüzlüğün uçuş kaygısı durumları ve uçuş kaygısı tarzı-bilişsel belirtiler ile olan ilişkilerinde üstbilişin aracı rolü olduğu bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak, uçuş kaygısı yaşayan kişilere yönelik değerlendirme ve müdahalelerde kaygı duyarlılığı, belirsizliğe tahammülsüzlük, kontrol odağı ve üstbiliş özelliklerine yer verilmesinin önemli olacağı düşünülmektedir.

Along with the negative effects of ADHD symptoms on individuals, various psychological factors are thought to be associated with these symptoms. However, ADHD in emerging adulthood is not rare and can be conceived as the continuation of discomfort that might emerge during childhood and adolescence. Our mediation study involved 613 undergraduate students in İstanbul. The participants filled out demographic information forms: Adult Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder Self-Reported Scale (ASRS), Perceived Stress Scale and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). Acil yardım çalışanları ve özellikle ambulans görevlileri travmatik etki oluşturabilecek durumlar... more Acil yardım çalışanları ve özellikle ambulans görevlileri travmatik etki oluşturabilecek durumlara sıklıkla şahit olabilmektedirler. Bu nedenle acil yardım çalışanlarında ve özellikle ambulans görevlilerinde travma sonrası stres bozukluğu ve tükenmişlik gibi sorunlar oluşabilmektedir. Bu çalışma kapsamında ambulans çalışanlarının şahit oldukları travmatik olayların etkisi ile tükenmişlik ve yaşam doyumu düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiler incelenmiş, ayrıca çalışanların kullanmış oldukları başa çıkma stratejilerinin bu ilişkiler kapsamındaki biçimleyici (moderatör) rolü araştırılmıştır. Analizler sonucunda travmanın etkisi alt boyutlarından aşırı uyarılmışlığın duygusal tükenmeyi yüksek düzeyde yordadığı, yeniden yaşamanın kendine yabancılaşma ile negatif ilişkili olduğu, diğer taraftan da aşırı uyarılmışlığın kendine yabancılaşma ile doğru orantılı olduğu bulgulanmıştır. Travmanın etkisinin tükenmişlik ve yaşam doyumu düzeyleri ile ilişkisinde başa çıkma stratejilerinin istatistiksel olarak biçimleyici bir rolü bulunamamıştır. Ancak sonuçlar genel olarak ele alındığında ambulans çalışanlarının travmatik olaylara maruz kaldıkları ve bu durumun söz konusu meslek grubundaki tükenmişlik sendromu ile ilişkilendirilebileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Travmatik olaylara maruz kalan personele yönelik gerekli destekleyici önlemlerin alınmasının hem çalışanların psikolojik sağlığı açısından hem de verilen hizmetin kalitesi açısından faydalı olabileceği düşünülmektedir. The market mechanisms that facilitate the sustainability issues are still playing a role in the value creation - no longer with a lead role rather as a supporting actor- in social entrepreneurship. This is why need for a distinctive definition of social entrepreneurship emerged and led to many academic researches. On the other hand, in practical applications social entrepreneurs find themselves stuck explaining the position of monetary issues in their vision to create a social transformation and want to be placed different than NGOs. In this paper, portrait values of Schwartz are used to assess how social entrepreneurs differ from commercial ones. A sample of 355 with 207 entrepreneurs and 148 social entrepreneurs were selected who are in the route from stand up to start up phase of entrepreneurial life-cycle and analysis show significant results of social entrepreneurs different than commercial ones.

In the multiple regression analyses conducted it was found that Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) quality affects the employees’ general self-efficacy and perceptions about their superordinates’ leadership efficacy. The results also denoted that leadership efficacy perceptions and employees’ general self-efficacy predict the collective efficacy beliefs of the subordinates about the teams that they are members in. Objectives: The aim of this research is to find out the association of work load perceived by emp... more Objectives: The aim of this research is to find out the association of work load perceived by employees, on their irritation levels and work engagement; while investigating the relations among these constructs the roles of supervisor support and psychological capital were also taken into consideration and analyzed as moderators. Moreover, it was aimed to clarify the relationship between work load and work engagement by using the irritation variable; which is a construct related with the effects of stress and work load on employees, and studied less compared to burn out variable; as a mediator. Methods: This research was designed as a crossectional study with survey methodology the participants were 147 full time employees working in various sectors in İstanbul. The data were analyzed by simple and multiple regressions, and the mediator analysis, Sobel Tests and the moderated regression analysis. Results: Work load perceived by the employees were positively related with cognitive and emotional irritation, and emotional irritation was negatively associated with work engagement. Despite the insignificance of moderating effects of perceived supervisor support and psychological capital, they were found to be directly related with variables associated with employee wellbeing. The results showed that cognitive irritation acted as a mediator between work load and emotional irritation, implying that irritation construct can be an important variable to understand work stress and employee wellbeing. Originality: Irritation has been a less studied construct about work stress compared to burnout in literature. For this reason, it is important to understand its relations with work load and work engagement This study revealed that cognitive irritation was a mediator between work load and emotional irritation signifying that cognitive psychological interventions can be useful for employees' emotional well-being.

Amaç: Acil servisler; fiziksel ve duygusal iş talebinin yüksek, iş kaynaklarının ise sınırlı oldu... more Amaç: Acil servisler; fiziksel ve duygusal iş talebinin yüksek, iş kaynaklarının ise sınırlı olduğu çalışma ortamlarıdır. Bu durum, acil servis çalışanlarının deneyimledikleri iş stresi ve tatminini olumsuz yönde etkileyebilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; acil servis çalışanlarında, temel benlik değerlendirmelerinin ve sosyal desteğin, iş stresi ile iş tatmini arasındaki ilişkiyi nasıl etkilediğini araştırmaktır. Tasarım/Yöntem: Araştırmaya İstanbul'da çeşitli hastanelerde görev yapan 267 acil servis çalışanı gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Veriler; İş Stresi Ölçeği, Minnesota İş Tatmini Ölçeği, Temel Benlik Değerlendirmeleri Ölçeği, Sosyal Destek Ölçeği ve Demografik Bilgi Formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Sonuçlar: Analiz sonuçları, iş stresi ile iş tatmini arasındaki ilişkide, temel benlik değerlendirmeleri ve sosyal destek değişkenlerinin düzenleyici bir etkisi olmadığını göstermiştir. İş stresinin; iş tatmini, temel benlik değerlendirmeleri ve sosyal destek ile negatif yönde ilişkili olduğu bulunmuştur. Öte yandan, iş tatmininin ise temel benlik değerlendirmeleri ve sosyal destek ile pozitif yönde ilişkili olduğu saptanmıştır. Özgün Değer: Bu araştırmada ilk kez iş stresi ile iş tatmini ilişkisinde temel benlik değerlendirmeleri ve sosyal desteğin biçimleyici rolü incelenmiştir. Bu açıdan bu araştırma gelecekte yapılacak benzer araştırmalar için bir referans noktası olabilir.

Considering the increasing number of psychology students and graduates, this study aims to depict the antecedents of psychology undergraduates' career adaptability by testing the predictive roles of demographic factors and personality traits on career adaptability and the mediating role positive psychological capital (PsyCap) has in these associations. kariyer hedeflerine ilişkin betimsel veriler de incelenmiş ve katılımcıların %97.2'sinin yüksek lisans yapmayı planladığı, %54.6'sının klinik psikoloji alanında uzmanlaşmayı istediği gözlenmiştir. Lisans kontenjanlarına kıyasla yüksek lisans kontenjanlarının azlığı dikkate alındığında bu bulgu, katılımcıların önemli bir kısmının mezuniyet sonrası kariyerlerini yönetirken daha esnek davranması gerektiğini göstermektedir.

In the past, perfectionism has been examined as a negative concept, yet recently it is being studied as a multi-dimensional construct in terms of both its positive and negative aspects. In light of current research, this study examined perfectionism with its adaptive and maladaptive dimensions and focused on the relation between these dimensions and self-esteem, workaholism and burnout, with the goal of contributing to the literature on employee well-being. In literature, despite the existence of studies that showed the association between perfectionism and burnout, there is a scarcity of research conducted on the mediating variables between these two constructs. This paper examined how perfectionism relates to burnout in the workplace by investigating the mediating role of self-esteem and workaholism and the relationship between these two constructs using a serial mediation model. A self-report questionnaire of key constructs was provided to a sample of 224 (63.4% women) Turkish employees. Correlation analyses and serial mediation analyses were conducted to test the proposed relations and mediating hypotheses. According to the results, maladaptive perfectionism is strongly related to burnout, to the extent that the mediational effects of selfesteem and workaholism are cancelled in the process. Adaptive perfectionism, however, does not have a direct effect on burnout, though it yielded a significant relationship with it through the mediation of self-esteem and workaholism. However, the total indirect effect for serial mediation between adaptive perfectionism and burnout was found to be insignificant. The findings add to the current literature findings by shedding light on the relationship between perfectionism and burnout as well as revealing the underlying mechanisms linking these two concepts.

Uçuş kaygısı, geçmiş deneyimler ve öğrenme, kişilik ve bilişsel özellikler ile ilişkili farklı fa... more Uçuş kaygısı, geçmiş deneyimler ve öğrenme, kişilik ve bilişsel özellikler ile ilişkili farklı faktörlerle bağlantılı olarak deneyimlenebilmektedir. Uluslararası çalışmaların çeşitliliğine rağmen, Türkçe alanyazında bu konuya yönelik çalışmaların kısıtlı oluşu dikkat çekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, uçuş kaygısının kaygı duyarlılığı, belirsizliğe tahammülsüzlük, kontrol odağı ve üstbiliş ile ilişkilerinin Türk toplumu örnekleminde incelenmesidir. Çalışmaya 18-73 yaş arası (Ort. = 35, SS = 11.23) 887 kişi (%63 kadın) katılmıştır. Veri toplama araçları olarak Sosyodemografik Bilgi Formu, Anksiyete Duyarlılığı İndeksi-3, Belirsizliğe Tahammülsüzlük Ölçeği, Kontrol Odağı Ölçeği, Üstbilişler Ölçeği-30, Uçuş Kaygısı Durumları Anketi ve Uçuş Kaygısı Tarzı Anketi kullanılmıştır. Kaygı duyarlılığı, belirsizliğe tahammülsüzlük, dış kontrol odağı ve üstbilişin uçuş kaygısı durumları, uçuş kaygısı tarzı-bedensel ve bilişsel belirtiler ile pozitif yönde ilişkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, bu değişkenler uçuş kaygısı durumları, uçuş kaygısı tarzı-bedensel ve bilişsel belirtileri ayrı ayrı yordamaktadır. Model analizlerinde kaygı duyarlılığı ile uçuş kaygısı tarzı-bedensel belirtiler arasındaki ilişkide kontrol odağının düzenleyici rolü olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, kaygı duyarlılığı ve belirsizliğe tahammülsüzlüğün uçuş kaygısı durumları ve uçuş kaygısı tarzı-bilişsel belirtiler ile olan ilişkilerinde üstbilişin aracı rolü olduğu bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak, uçuş kaygısı yaşayan kişilere yönelik değerlendirme ve müdahalelerde kaygı duyarlılığı, belirsizliğe tahammülsüzlük, kontrol odağı ve üstbiliş özelliklerine yer verilmesinin önemli olacağı düşünülmektedir.

Bu nedenle acil yardım çalışanlarında ve özellikle ambulans görevlilerinde travma sonrası stres bozukluğu ve tükenmişlik gibi sorunlar oluşabilmektedir. Bu çalışma kapsamında ambulans çalışanlarının şahit oldukları travmatik olayların etkisi ile tükenmişlik ve yaşam doyumu düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiler incelenmiş, ayrıca çalışanların kullanmış oldukları başa çıkma stratejilerinin bu ilişkiler kapsamındaki biçimleyici (moderatör) rolü araştırılmıştır. Analizler sonucunda travmanın etkisi alt boyutlarından aşırı uyarılmışlığın duygusal tükenmeyi yüksek düzeyde yordadığı, yeniden yaşamanın kendine yabancılaşma ile negatif ilişkili olduğu, diğer taraftan da aşırı uyarılmışlığın kendine yabancılaşma ile doğru orantılı olduğu bulgulanmıştır. Travmanın etkisinin tükenmişlik ve yaşam doyumu düzeyleri ile ilişkisinde başa çıkma stratejilerinin istatistiksel olarak biçimleyici bir rolü bulunamamıştır. Ancak sonuçlar genel olarak ele alındığında ambulans çalışanlarının travmatik olaylara maruz kaldıkları ve bu durumun söz konusu meslek grubundaki tükenmişlik sendromu ile ilişkilendirilebileceği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Travmatik olaylara maruz kalan personele yönelik gerekli destekleyici önlemlerin alınmasının hem çalışanların psikolojik sağlığı açısından hem de verilen hizmetin kalitesi açısından faydalı olabileceği düşünülmektedir. The market mechanisms that facilitate the sustainability issues are still playing a role in the value creation - no longer with a lead role rather as a supporting actor- in social entrepreneurship. This is why need for a distinctive definition of social entrepreneurship emerged and led to many academic researches. On the other hand, in practical applications social entrepreneurs find themselves stuck explaining the position of monetary issues in their vision to create a social transformation and want to be placed different than NGOs. In this paper, portrait values of Schwartz are used to assess how social entrepreneurs differ from commercial ones. A sample of 355 with 207 entrepreneurs and 148 social entrepreneurs were selected who are in the route from stand up to start up phase of entrepreneurial life-cycle and analysis show significant results of social entrepreneurs different than commercial ones.

Objectives: The aim of this research is to find out the association of work load perceived by emp... more Objectives: The aim of this research is to find out the association of work load perceived by employees, on their irritation levels and work engagement; while investigating the relations among these constructs the roles of supervisor support and psychological capital were also taken into consideration and analyzed as moderators. Moreover, it was aimed to clarify the relationship between work load and work engagement by using the irritation variable; which is a construct related with the effects of stress and work load on employees, and studied less compared to burn out variable; as a mediator. Methods: This research was designed as a crossectional study with survey methodology the participants were 147 full time employees working in various sectors in İstanbul. The data were analyzed by simple and multiple regressions, and the mediator analysis, Sobel Tests and the moderated regression analysis. Results: Work load perceived by the employees were positively related with cognitive and emotional irritation, and emotional irritation was negatively associated with work engagement. Despite the insignificance of moderating effects of perceived supervisor support and psychological capital, they were found to be directly related with variables associated with employee wellbeing. The results showed that cognitive irritation acted as a mediator between work load and emotional irritation, implying that irritation construct can be an important variable to understand work stress and employee wellbeing. Originality: Irritation has been a less studied construct about work stress compared to burnout in literature. For this reason, it is important to understand its relations with work load and work engagement This study revealed that cognitive irritation was a mediator between work load and emotional irritation signifying that cognitive psychological interventions can be useful for employees' emotional well-being.

Bu durum, acil servis çalışanlarının deneyimledikleri iş stresi ve tatminini olumsuz yönde etkileyebilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı; acil servis çalışanlarında, temel benlik değerlendirmelerinin ve sosyal desteğin, iş stresi ile iş tatmini arasındaki ilişkiyi nasıl etkilediğini araştırmaktır. Tasarım/Yöntem: Araştırmaya İstanbul'da çeşitli hastanelerde görev yapan 267 acil servis çalışanı gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Veriler; İş Stresi Ölçeği, Minnesota İş Tatmini Ölçeği, Temel Benlik Değerlendirmeleri Ölçeği, Sosyal Destek Ölçeği ve Demografik Bilgi Formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Sonuçlar: Analiz sonuçları, iş stresi ile iş tatmini arasındaki ilişkide, temel benlik değerlendirmeleri ve sosyal destek değişkenlerinin düzenleyici bir etkisi olmadığını göstermiştir. İş stresinin; iş tatmini, temel benlik değerlendirmeleri ve sosyal destek ile negatif yönde ilişkili olduğu bulunmuştur. Öte yandan, iş tatmininin ise temel benlik değerlendirmeleri ve sosyal destek ile pozitif yönde ilişkili olduğu saptanmıştır. Özgün Değer: Bu araştırmada ilk kez iş stresi ile iş tatmini ilişkisinde temel benlik değerlendirmeleri ve sosyal desteğin biçimleyici rolü incelenmiştir. Bu açıdan bu araştırma gelecekte yapılacak benzer araştırmalar için bir referans noktası olabilir.

Due to this ascending demand, new undergraduate psychology programs were founded, and the Turkish Higher Education Institution has increased quotas for existing programs (Arık, 2015). After graduation, psychology students will likely face fierce competition for master's programs and employment opportunities. As the core concept of career construction theory (Savickas, 2013), career adaptability is important for the employability, career success, and satisfaction of graduates and employees (Nilforooshan & Salimi, 2016). Considering the increasing number of psychology students and graduates, this study aims to depict the antecedents of psychology undergraduates' career adaptability by testing the predictive roles of demographic factors and personality traits on career adaptability and the mediating role positive psychological capital (PsyCap) has in these associations. kariyer hedeflerine ilişkin betimsel veriler de incelenmiş ve katılımcıların %97.2'sinin yüksek lisans yapmayı planladığı, %54.6'sının klinik psikoloji alanında uzmanlaşmayı istediği gözlenmiştir. Lisans kontenjanlarına kıyasla yüksek lisans kontenjanlarının azlığı dikkate alındığında bu bulgu, katılımcıların önemli bir kısmının mezuniyet sonrası kariyerlerini yönetirken daha esnek davranması gerektiğini göstermektedir.
