MundellHealthDay Reporter FRIDAY, Nov. 5 (HealthDayNews) -- Adolescent and college-age women with abnormal findings on their Pap smear shouldn't hit the panic button, a new report suggests.In the vast majority of cases, these abnormalities simply clear up on their own, the study found.The research may also help resolve the issue of whether colposcopy -- a more invasive, expensive follow-up test -- is always warranted in this younger age group."The take-home message is that the majority of women with [Pap test] abnormalities who are at or under college age don't need to rush out and get colposcopy," said Dr. Thomas C. In the first study, Dr. Dario Giugliano, from Policlinico Seconda Universita di Napoli in Italy, and colleagues conducted a clinical trial to assess the role that diet plays in metabolic syndrome, a condition characterized by obesity, high blood pressure and increased blood sugar. The risk of gonorrhea and chlamydia grew by several times among the heterosexual men who reported condom "errors." For one, they tend to be picky about food. They tend to throw things like grapes and blueberries. And he suspected that they would eat very few of the fresh fruit and vegetable snacks offered in a 2002-2003 test nutrition program at Hoover. But to his great surprise, Principal Terry Meier saw students munching on fresh broccoli, cauliflower, green peppers, baby carrots, and many kinds of fruit. "Was I ever wrong," Meier admits today.
