Guardian Live | Burt Reynolds meets Hadley Freeman (original) (raw)

Join the most famous moustache ever to grace the silver screen as Burt Reynolds publishes his new biography, But Enough About Me. With over six decades in Hollywood, Burt’s tales include encounters with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dinah Shore, Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando, Sally Field and many more.

In conversation with the Guardian’s Hadley Freeman, the veteran actor will be offering a lively, candid romp through a career that’s included such classics as his breakout role in John Boorman’s Deliverance, playing trans-am driver Bo "Bandit" Darville in Smokey and the Bandit, and a pioneering pornographer in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Boogie Nights.

Here’s a word from the great man himself: “You’ll hear about the people who’ve shaped my life, for better or worse. I’ll pay homage to those I love and respect, acknowledge those who’ve stayed loyal, call out the assholes I can’t forgive, and try to make amends for being an asshole myself on too many occasions. I don’t mince words or pull punches. I’ve always enjoyed making fun of myself, and I won’t stop now - my bullshit detector has improved with age!”

Purchased tickets include a copy of the book But Enough About Me. These will be available for collection on the night.
