Dear Project Runway,
I... don't know if I can trust you again. This summer you hurt me, you hurt me real bad. I was rooting for you! WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR Y–
Oh wait, wrong reality show crack.
But yes, ever since word came of you moving to Lifetime I've sort of tilted my head to one side and said "Really? Her? Is she funny or something?" Apprehensive but in need of your sweet sweet design-y goodness and the power of the Gunn, I trudged forward and followed you willingly into Season 6 in L.A. New town, new production staff, and it seemed okay at first. Passable, even. It was no Season 1, 2, 3, 4... But I digress, you've had a long and storied career of making me happy in the face.
You hurt me baby, you hurt me real bad.
I tuned into Project Runway week after week but it became clearer and clearer to me that I was in reality watching "The Real World: Los Angeles Fashion Designers". How else could you explain the fact that the designers that went to Bryant Park were the prettiest, youngest, and most likely to appeal to Maxim readers? Even Tim Gunn has cracked that case, Scooby-Doo:
EW: Let’s be honest. Did you hate last season?
Gunn: Well, we all need to be truth tellers about it. My response is so filled with selfish dimensions – having to leave my own apartment and camp out in a strange place for 5 weeks, piling into a van to go to Mood which would take up to an hour one way. I have so many feelings about season 6. This has nothing to do with the individuals Carol Hannah, Althea, or Irina, but I was disappointed that our three finalists were three women in their 20s.
Conclusion:
Son, Tim Gunn was disappoint.
