This is coming a little late, but...

A quick reminder:
Remember to tag your posts properly!
Use a designated band name tag - OR - a #genre tag (or more) that best describes the band(s) you're posting.
The complete list of available tags can be found by scrolling down on the main entries page while turning your head ever so slightly to the left.
It's hard, I know, but it can be done.

Alright then, it's on:
We've added a few basic genre tags. These are the most common genres that are posted here in this community, though we're not ruling out the possibilty of adding more (sub)genre tags in the future. We'll see how this plays out first.
The new tags are as follows:
#black
#death
#doom
#folk
#power
#progressive
#symphonic
#thrash
#traditional
#wtf metal
(this one is for anything that can't easily be categorized using the previous 9 tags)
The "#" sign turned out to be the most convenient, since it shows up directly underneath the "!" tags in the tag list (as opposed to most of the other combinations I tried, which turned up either at the bottom of the list or after the bands that start with a number). Apparently there is no symbol that out-ranks "!"...
The main rule is this:
ONLY USE THE GENRE TAG FOR BANDS THAT DON'T ALREADY HAVE A NAME TAG.
That means if you're posting Metallica, simply use the "metallica" tag. Nothing else. If you're posting multiple bands, you only need to apply appropriate genre tags to the bands that don't already have designated name tags.
Other than that, it's just business as usual: keep on tagging your posts with the regular band name tags, just like you've always done. These new genre tags are just an addition, and their purpose is to make browsing and finding past entries slightly easier.
When in doubt:
a) use your best judgement
b) consult Metal Archives
c) leave it to one of the moderators.
I'll go through some of the most recently posted entries soon and apply the genre tags as needed, just so you'll get an idea of how it will all work. Or at least of how it's supposed to work.
Feel free to comment and/or direct your questions here!
Let the confusion begin.

I'm little bit of a noob, but I'm gettin it. I have a lot of Slayer, some Exodus, I saw some tags for All That Remains (idk if that's ok or not), and I have all their stuff, Black Sabbath, I've got everything DragonForce, again I saw some Lamb Of God.. got all their stuff too, Celtic Frost, Dir En Grey, Fear Factory, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Machine Head, Megadeth, Metallica, Ozzy, Rob Zombie, Sepultura, etc. Again not sure this is all "metal" but lemme know if you want anything and I'll upload it for you.
In addition I'd like to request some Opeth, most of the old links are dead (with the exception of Still Life, and Blackwater Park), and if anyone's got some Cannibal Corpse that'd be sweet too. Thanks guys.
Just Uploaded some DragonForce, I noticed some of the links went dead, and I -think- we missed an album...

For hibernaldream...
Carcass is considered the major inspiration and musical foundation for most gore metal and deathgrind/goregrind bands as well as being one of the founding fathers of melodic death metal.
Necroticism-Descanting the Insalubrious [1991]
Also, I'm requesting Nile's Annihilation of the Wicked. I saw them at Ozzfest and it was fucking amazing! Aside from Behemoth and Lamb of God they put on the best show. I have a few quick videos on youtube if anyone is interested, they can be located here.
I can upload all the other Nile albums if anyone is interested.
